Many of you are familiar with Child's Play Charity ("http://www.childsplaycharity.org) the children's charity organized by the creators of Penny Arcade, Gabe and Tycho. Their main purpose in this charity is to provide kids in hospitals around the U.S., U.K., and Canada toys and such around the holidays. Many of these kids have serious illnesses and it's not just the fact that they're cooped up in a hospital over Christmas, it's also that many of them have parents who can barely scrape by, with medical bills and basic expenses like food and bills. This charity gives these kids a little joy over the Holidays.
I am a huge fan of this charity because they give 100% of the proceeds directly to these children. They don't use it to pay staff. You can donate toys or send money. They encourage you to go to Amazon.com and use their wish-list, set up by PA and hospitals, to buy the toys on there to send directly to kids.
If you go to the web site, there's also a PDF flyer that you can download to put up to spread the word.
