Supposedly we are "celebrating" the meeting and cooperation of the pilgrims and the Indians. The Indians taught the Pilgrims (religious seperatists from the UK) how to grow corn, find food, etc.. Seems like the ONLY time we and the indigenous people got along. We eat turkey and cranberries, gather with family, all without the burden of gift giving, which is why I LOVE Thanksgiving (and hate Christmas), although I think the reasoning behind it is crap. Ok, lol, now I am sure I've ruffled some [turkey] feathers so I'll stop! ;)

You forgot "stuff ourselves silly, watch football, and pass out in a turkey coma", which is usually my experience of Thanksgiving :lol

Yep, then have enough leftovers to feed a small 3rd world country. :lol
