Before things get totally out of hand here, I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. I know it's been a crazy year for a lot of people, both good and not so good, but I hope that we've all got one or two things to be thankful for. So everyone...have a Happy Frelling Thanksgiving. Eat, drink, be merry, and enjoy yourselves. And everyone be careful on the roads, okay? :hi:

Well having checked with my sources....I think it safe for me to say Happy thanksgiving to all my american cousins........I just needed to be sure it had nothing to do with that little tea incident in someplace in Northeastern USA.....so

Happy thanksgiving all

Now now now...we're not going to let a little thing like that intrude on the celebration, are we? As a matter of fact, a very dear Brit friend of mine claims that Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday. Very easy to celebrate -- all you have to do is eat!

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep. I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned -- the dark meat and white, But I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees "Happy eating to all - Pass the cranberries, please!"

May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump; May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump;

May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize; May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs.

The Thanksgiving poem was from an email that was forwarded many times before it came to me
there is no 'credit' or signature on it, so feel free to use it.

mmm turducken.

I had a ton of turkey tonight, a ton of mystery stuffing, some wonderful broccoli au gratin and a ton of pie. by a ton i mean one slice. but it would put kids into a sugar coma so that's okay.

i had a friend suggest that if i had to deal with the kids or be made to babysit, to just give them sugar and let them loose outside, and let them fend for themselves using rocks and sticks as defensive tools.

i'm starting to think i should've done that.

Its nice to take a break from bodybuilding and dieting for a few days. No running, no weights, no protien shakes, just a bunch of garbage. Tasty garbage.

Though, I had a sugar hangover like you wouldn't believe.

Thanksgiving, with most of its images, conjures an idea of a strictly American holiday. However, it's a carry-over from England where the celebration of Harvest Home is probably still observed by some.

And meanwhile our Canadian neighbors celebrate it in early October, which as a harvest holiday makes more sense.

Whether or not it makes sense, the "paper trail" (lol) is there.
