Farscape Season 1 Sets

I'm trying to decide on which set to buy and the options are including S&H:

R1 : US$142
R2 : US$71
R4 : US$64
Starburst : 58

So which should I buy thinking of price vs features?

Starburst is your best bet. Region 4 tends to be the worst in features. Region 2 used to be the best until Starburst comes along with has both Region 1 and Region 2 features, plus a few extra.

Thanks for that, but now I've been hearing a lot about defective Starburst disk, were those only the first batches or is it a still existing problem?

The R4 version is the plain vanilla poverty version, and it's been overpriced for far too long. About October last year, the price of every box set dropped $100!!! , and pretty much every Scaper in Australia rushed out and bought them all.
At the moment, they are around the $80 mark, still very dear, but considering how tiny the audience for Farscape is in Australia, it's a wonder they were ever sold here in the first place.

Starburst Season 1 disks use the double sided disks which do occasionally cause problems in playback. It's the encoding, so it'll be a continuing problem. SE season 3 and 4 will not be using the double sided disks so they will not have the playback problems that comes up occasionally in the other ones.

once adv runs out of stock on the original starburst editions, they're going to change them into the one-sided disks, so if those are the ones you want, be patient, and they'll make it to market soon..

Unfortunately I'm also on teh bad receiving end of the Starburst collection. I bought them online, new, wrapped quite well and careful. All cd's look perfect but dont play like it. :(
