Who is leading this group?

Who speaks for us? What are the other main groups involved in this fight? Do we have each other's actual email addresses? Do we know what exceptional skills and experience we all have that could be brought to bear? What is the best time for us all to try to meet rather than trying to catch each other on the board all day? Where is everyone geographically concentrated? Does anyone work directly in advertising? How about for a television station? How about for a magazine? A newspaper? What are the three most effective things we can do using our numbers?

Who knows? We don't. We don't because we can't answer these questions until we have a structure for posing, vetting and selecting from the answers. We are often in anonymous remote posting mode rather than sitting down, introducing ourselves to each other for real and focusing the amazing potential of this community. Unfortunately we run the risk of expending our energy in big, entropic circles if we can't stop moving without direction. Let's fix that.

This is a new thread. Answer the questions "Who are you, where are you, what do you do best?" But please ONLY answer those questions here. It doesn't need to be another fragmented idea thread. We have those. Ignore it if you want. But helping build this database adds to our strength.

Resourceful, goofy, imaginative thinker, writer, commercial artist & editor, living at Bolinas beach, just north of the in the San Francisco bay area...
I sort of feel like I'm filling out a personals ad.
:O
Seriously, I'm a woman who feels twenty years younger than 50, (who's name is NOT Virginia, if you're wondering, even though I am as tall and wouldn't mind being blue) who loves to read scifi and philosophy and would be happy to be a guru if there wasn't so much fawning admiration attached to it.

The talents I have that might be useful here are...

I can make enormous banners. I can draw impermanent signs on your car, window or whatever. I can talk to people all day, and still want to talk to someone else later that night happily. But more importantly, I have free cellphone minutes on the weekends which I have already used to talk about about how much I want to see more Farscape...that only needs a little more direction.

My suggestion is to campaign for more local cable stations to carry the scifi channel. That is the main reason that most of my friends are not also Farscape addicts.

...and I have to say - I really love the Farscape fanfiction here - especially I think Red's writing is fantastic - but nearly everyone's stories are up to snuff!

Welcome to the insanity Zhaan! :hi:

Every project here starts with an idea. :)

If your friends want to watch Farscape, there are many other ways to see it than just the "Sci-Fi Channel". You can rent the DVD's from many libraries around the country thanks to Mickie's Library Project. If there isn't a stocked library close, you may want to contact Mickie and she can put you on the right track on how to remedy the situation.

There is also always Netflix or simply buy the box sets Best Buy et al. and have viewing parties for your friends. There are plenty people here to tell you the instrumental episodes to watch :D

Glad you made it :aok:

Hello I'm new here, but Farscape was the only show in the history of MY world, that I watched religiously

Names Kirk. Working on the third book of a fantasy trilogy right now (writing it not reading it). I tried to get a hold of someone to get a job writing for Farscape, but always ended up at a fan site. Oddly enough there have been several ideas that the writers of Farscape and myself have had in common from as small as using the word "Dominar" to as large as the concept of living inside a living host. Usually I'm not too happy when I find that ideas I thought were novel are being used by somebody else, but in this case it just made me want to team up with those writers. Not many people that think like I do out there :).

I love how the characters in Farscape evolve, how relationships change and flourish, and how wardrobe gets better and better. (from dorky flight suits to black leather trench coats lol)

I'd be honored to help any way i can.

Good 'eve !

My name is Stephen.. I'm 29... and I'm sort of a graphics geek in training.

I've been following Farscape since it started, and I was blown away. I've a small collection of Henson works, always been a fan.

I've gotten into 3d graphics and rendering about 6 years back.. have been trying to get back into college for a while, and am finally going the long route. Local community college for a an Associates in Art / Design, then on to a better college for Computer Animation and 3D design.

Have my own site up that I designed and a friend coded for me.. Pumpkin Technologies (http://www.pumpkintechnologies.com) and I am currently in the work of having my site entirely flash-animated. Newer, more up to date art is also available at .. My Deviant Art Gallery (http://mtncub.deviantart.com/gallery/) .

I am an amature at the least... but I have been selling some of my works for upwards of $300.

For the past 3 years I worked in a Vancouver, Washington based internet provider until they laid off most of their technical support crew. Now I am finally back in college getting ready for my future in graphics.

I would be glad to lend a hand in any graphics work, or if they need help building sets.. I'm in! :) Be an extra ? Sure ! A star in training ? why not! I'm up for it!

Always willing to relocate to exotic locations.. I.E. Austrlia or New Zealand. (Suuure, it'll happen!)

I am retired from teaching nursing at the BSN level and my clinical practice was mostly in neonatal Intensive care, also the rest of perinatal content(ie.labor and delivery, pregnancy etc). Since I am ancient and the only computer course I took was in Basic(yeah I know- big help) I'm am relatively illiterate but I am tenacious. If you want messages sent, I have the time to do it. Hi. My name is Joy. I'm a female older than dirt.Well, I'm a "Joy", too, and I don't know if I want to admit to the "older than dirt" part, but I'm sure most of the posters here would put me in that category! I'm going to my first "con" in June, and plan to attend CreationCon in Burbank this year.

Hi It is a fairly unusual name. My mother thought it was clever because I was born near Christmas(and my middle name is carol- all together now--awwww!)

I have really enjoyed the cons, especially last year when I dressed as Furlow. Lots of positive feedback.

Don't know yet about this year, not until they announce who will be there, but if you haven't met anyone, it's worth it no matter who is there. I've seen and/or talked to Ben,Fran,Claudia, Gigi,Raelee,Virginia, Wayne, Anth,David,Rebecca,Lani, Johnathon and Bianca. Have not met or seen Tammy,Melissa or my avatar Magda so that would be fun.

Hope to see you there.

Basically, when someone asks "What are you a rocket scientist?", I can say " Sure am!". So I can do all sorts of math and engineering stuff. I am also good at managing things. I have tried to get involved more before, but wasn't able to do anything asked because of being at school, now that it is only three weeks away from summer break I am again looking for some way to help. Please gimme something to do!!!

Hey I'm a newbie here so I figure I'll just poke my head in around everywhere. I didn't become a Farscape fand until very late. It was probably about October or November of Last year that I found out about this show and by that time it was already canceled. In fact I never knew this show was on for 4 years. I probably got it confused with that terrible show Lexx. Actually it was more because SciFi promotes their best shows like FOX. Anyhoo, I'm 26, live in South Jersey, just graduated with a Bachelors in Graphic Design from The College of New Jersey(which hopefully will burn to the ground some day), and I have been working for a neon sign show for over 8 years. We manufacture wholesale neon and have done glass work for national corporations. Rite Aid, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Verizon Wireless, Regal Cinemas, blah, blah, blah. If for any reason you can use what I have let me know. I'll do my best to see this show back on its feet again. I'm a loyal follower now. I just bought the second season DVDs from Best Buy only a week after receiving season one. I'm kinda crazy about it now.

I am 31.
I am a writer of short stories, poems, two Farscape novels (obviously unpublished!), and currently working on a fantasy epic.
I am an avid reader.
I am a Conservative.
I live with five cats (Simon, Kittentail, Margaret {a.k.a Pinky}, Tigger and Desire), a guinea pig named Trico and an African Pygmy Hedgehog named Orlando.
I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan. I read the books first and, although I respect and enjoyed the movies, was saddened by the many changes done to what I think is one of the best stories ever told.
I work at a middle school as a computer lab assistant but I am the only person working in the two labs with 60 computers so I'm not sure who I am assisting except the kids. I am also the parent (not by blood) of a 13 year old with spinia bifida. His father is a good friend and I have cared for this special boy for going on 11 years. I am also an after school tutor for a 13 year old with CP.
I love hiking, reading, writing, gardening, and playing my tin whistle.
I am a through and through Farscape fan -- have been from the start.

Greetings;

My name is Michael (though many online friends call my 'soy' - its a long story). I am a SciFi/Fantasy/Movie fanatic. I have read over 3000 novels and watched over 10,000 movies, which has had the remarkable effect of ruining my ability to remember any specifics whatsoever from anything I have watched or read. Despite all of that Farscape does stand out in my mind as something special.

I'm somewhat of a Joat (for those of you who are missing out and have not read Anne Mcaffery: Jack of all Trades) though my current focus has been on software deployment and internet hosting as well as some dabbling in internet backbone deployment and configuration as well as some PHP/MySQL sites.

I work for a GSP (Game Server Provider) so if you play Unreal Tournament chances are you have played on a server I run. We also do webhosting, managed hosting, colocation and a few other permutations.

If anyone (or save/watchfarscape itself) needs any assistance in any hosting I can give them a hand. I am also a really mean editor. I always forget the terminology for grammatical issues, but after all the reading I do I can spot em in a heartbeat, so let me know if you want something read and critiqued before you offer it to the masses.

Thats not to say I am any good at writing as I write normally just for myself (aka too personally attatched to my work to sustain the same criticism I offer) but I am passibly good at helping others.

Oh, and I am somewhere between 25 and 28, but my wife isn't awake to remind me my exact age and I sacrificed that part of my memory years ago when I read Tolkien's 'The Lays of Beleriand'.

05-30-2004, 10:43 AM
I've written 'Wolfheart', The short novel "the Druid Alicianara (A noble woman's Nightmare), and the short stories "Twighlight's Child" and "The Attic"
My latest is : Flight of the Hellcat, not exactly a true sci-fi OR fantasy, but a fun mix of both.

If someone wants to colaborate a Farscape story or two, I'm game. Right now I have a couple new things in the works, but I would find time to add that project to my list :)
An idea I had centered around a secret squad of Prowlers. This squadron would be highly experimental. Being so, Peacekeeper Command would not assign their very best pilots, (knowing most may not survive), but the less-conforming types - discipline problems & screwups. Kind of a "Black Sheep' Squadron. This squad would be the only ones close enough to fight off a Scarran attack on a Peacekeeper world.

Any comments????

Hi,

While I only have a few posts on this site, Ive really been involved with the Farscape campaign (I.E. sending letters, emails, campaigning, etc...) since the show was cancelled more than a year ago.
I'm currently a college student in the Western U.S., and my main interests include writing and studying languages (primarily Latin/classical Greek). I was originally a classics major, but I sold out to business :(

Favorite Farscape character: Crais :)
Least Favorite character: Sikozu :D

Hey, I'm Maz, 30 --- I sort of have a backwards history with Farscape, I caught the very last episode of the show by mistake, and then found out it was cancelled, i thought the cliff hanger was brilliant, but where I lived, my cable carrier started carrying the sci-fi network, on the very same week that the show aired it's last original episode... I have taken time to catch up with the episodes, I'm all caught up now, and I must say... WOW... I just saw a commercial for the Peacekeeper wars, and I had read that the fans saved the show through savefarscape.com, and well, here I am, just checking things out.

awesome site. Glad to be here. Looking forward to the Peacekeeper Wars. What an amazing show.

I've just found you guys and am completely humbled by everything you've done. I caught the first farscape series and loved it! then it got harder and harder to watch, i didn't have cable and the bbc kept on putting it on too early for me to catch, by the time it was cancelled i'd so lost touch with the series that it saddened me but didn't really touch me in the way it should have. Recently i got cable and discovered sci fi channel were airing two hours on saturday mornings (not mentioned in national tv listings which all say the channel doesn't start til midday - tsk) plus a daily arbitrary hour (two weeks ago it was midnight now it's 3pm - tsk tsk), it's as difficult to watch as ever but with the aid of my video recorder, i am completely obsessed again! how did i forget that this IS the greatest scifi story (tv or film) ever created? What a dunce!

It's amazing what you lot have done, truly amazing. thank you from the bottom of my heart. When i started recapturing my love of farscape i had no idea that a miniseries had been commissioned, then i do a bit of net surfing and find all this. TOTALLY GOBSMACKINGLY AMAZING!!!!!

I'm 32 and live in London, my skills? I'm a press officer dealing with national magazines and newspapers... i'll make sure i bug my contacts to death to ensure everyone know farscape is returning and push for any coverage i can get. In the UK what Farscape really needs is to get a run on the BBC. Skiffy (love that!) isn't widely watched and the national tv magazines will do previews in the cable sections but don't do a great deal of coverage otherwise unless the show's on the two biggies Sky One or Living TV. Even then, it's a lot more limited. If it gets picked up by the BBC then the scope is there for interviews/posters/reviews.... i've emailed the BBC as i know a lot of people have. Also, do people here have a centralised list of addresses for key UK letter's pages? If you don't then i'm happy to put that together. A bit of guerilla letter writing may well help in the weeks running up to its screening (once skiffy let's us know when it's showing it in the UK) to further press coverage.

Apologies if this is all old news/suggestions but if there's anything you think i can do then just let me know. I clearly have some catching up to do!

Hmm,

Lessee here, I am an award-winning political cartoonist (temporarily retired), an award-winning video producer,
Both these skills could be very useful. Due to copyright restrictions, we usually can't use any images from Farscape itself for ads for the miniseries, however artistic drawings of various charactors and the like can be utilized. You should check the "eye candy" forum to see what the current needs are on the subject.

The "award-winning video producer" aspect seems particularly interesting. Once of the projects which we've already raised some money for, and definately plan to implement is one where we are going to show our own TV ad promoting the miniseries. (While the Scifi channel is showing trailers to promote it, and other NBC affiliates might do so to some degree as well, we could show the ad on non-NBC affiliated channels and reach a different potential audience.)

While I'm not an organizer of the project and I don't know the precise status of the ad we are creating for airing on TV, I don't believe it has been shot yet and the exact type of ad may not even be finalized yet. Your video producer skills and knowledge could be very helpful for ensuring that we end up producing as effective and high quality ad as possible. You can read about what is happening with this TV commercial project in this thread:
http://www.watchfarscape.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12076

As far as who to get in contact with, I believe Jul is one of the current organizers and could get you in contact with the right people to see if they can use your skills.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Multimedia/Web so my skills included everything from web design, graphic design, magazine layout, high end video production, etc. Any program related to my field, I probably know how to use it.

I have been a Farscape fan from the beginning and my web site FarscapeGuide.com has been there since the beginning. Some might remember it as the Ultimate Farscape Guide which is what it was known as back in 99. I feel kind of bad because although I have had the site, my time was very limited trying to get through school and get a job, that I had to put Farscape on the backburner. I was not able to support the show as much as I would have liked save for my web site. I am trying to make up for that now so any help that is needed, I freely give my time and energy to whoever needs it. Hope to know you all in the future.

Hi there.
My name is Tabitha. I am 25. I live in the S. Lake Tahoe, Ca, area. I got interested in Farscape about a year ago when I had roommates. I've not been a big tv person but my roommates were and Farscape caught my attention but I didn't have the time off to watch. I've another friend who informed me of this website a while back. That friend was also kind enough to help me watch as much of the series up to this point as I could and I thank her for that. Farscape is a really neat show and I'd like to help out.

Some things I am good at, well. I have my own business. I get to learn from millionaires how to achieve as much of their income as I want while accomplishing my dreams too in the process of inviting others who too want to accomplish their dreams. It's lots of fun, we learn lots, and the teamwork of the people using this website is as good as the family and teamwork I get in my business. That's the other reason I like this site. Keep up the great work. Thank you again and if there is anything I can do to help as well, Tabitha :0)

Nother Newbie to the board here, although I've been watching the show since the beginning. I have to brag -- the Chapel Hill, NC chapter of Meetup will *finally* meetup next week. We've been trying and failing for months.

I'm 47 young, a software development manager on a long term contract to the EPA, a mom of four (twins - did I mention I was an efficiency expert?), and a very good second-in-command or power behind the throne. Not great at the podium, and rather sing back-up than lead, but can gyrate with the best. Would very much like to get involved with some aspect of the campaign.

Any possibility?

HI EVERYONE!

My name's Laia. I'm 23 years old (next month, 24) and I live in Barcelona, Spain, Europe.
First of all, I congrat the webmasters for this idea. If we have to do something, better if you have some information.
What can I do for you? I'm good at languages. Apart from my mothertongue (catalan) and spanish, I speak English and French.
Now, I'm studying the last year of Publicity and PR (but I must confess that my creativity has to be improved!

Here, in Barcelona, we have begun to talk to TV3 the local TV channel that broadcasts everything about Farscape in catalan) just to know if they will buy the emission of Farscape so here we could enjoy it too!!

Another friend of mine makes things like you (in a minor scale, of course) and I will talk to her.
Well,

:hugz: to the crew

My name is Ben I live in a small Oklahoma town called El Reno. I just found Farscape for a first real time last week and since have watched every episode on DVD's my friend let me borrow, which I am now buying. I love this show, and will do anything to help keep it going. So far in a week I've gotten 5 more people hooked on the show, and I'm trying to figure out what else I can do. I'm 23, a writer, and I am good at convincing people about things.

My name is Pam. I am a small town family "Doc". I have been a fan of science fiction from a very early age and was thrilled the first time I saw the previews of Farscape. The anticipation I felt after those previews was more than justified when the show finally started. I was totally hooked, and devastated when the SciFi Channel cancelled it. My boyfriend and I own a small farm where I am the companion to five dogs, thirty cats, and two horses. Jon was paralyzed in a motocross accident on our farm on 9-10-2001. Last year he accepted a job teaching high school automotive as he was unalble to secure a job in his field as an automotive technician. The only problem with this job was it was four hours from home. He got an apartment near the school and took our computer with him. When that happened besides losing Farscape I lost the companionship of the Farscape community that had become an extended family to me. (Hey, Jon came home on the weekends, so I didn't lose him!) Anyway, he isn't teaching this year, so the computer is home-YAY!!! Still getting acquainted with the changes to this site, but glad to be back.

Greetings. Browsing through this thread, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself until I realized I had already done so a loong time ago, under a different handle (dare you to find me)- and I must say I did quite a ride in the meantime personalitywise, kinda like John from S1 to S4 and I went back to be stuck in S2. Older but not wiser. Anyway, since there is at least one other double introduction here, I thought I'd go again... sort of.

Well, I love Farscape. Duh. I'm the female of the species, in my late twenties. The only man in my life is my horse, and not even he really belongs to me but I still love him dearly. For the rest I am about ready to place an ad goin like, "lost wanderer looking for pk tech girl. Won't be fooled again." I am a frelling artist and wannabe world improver. I like to laugh a lot, and enjoy life to the best of my abilities. Don't know if there's much more to say about myself, I hate going personal on public boards. If you want to know how I look like you will have to buy the ScapeJirl Calendar which I highly recommend. ;)

With a family and kids and working to do what I need to and have to do and with limited funds, teaching my self is the route I had to take.

Saving farscape is something I am willing ready and able to what ever I can. I know I was not there to help with all hard work that you all have done to bring back Farscape as you did with PKwars, Im just one of many that are very thankful for what you have accomplished, I have been Farscape from day one and always will be Farscape.

Im here to do what ever I can.

Hi, I have been a fan of farscape since I found it in 2001 or 2002, I dont remember which year. :( Anyhow, I am new to the boards due to the fact that I wasnt much of an internet person during that time. I was too preoccupied with work and the family. Now that I am divorced (YIPEEEE!), I have a lot more time to spend with my daughter and also to explore my own wants and needs.

I live in Hawaii.. I'm 29, and I love Farscape. Dunno, what I can do best but, if u need someone in Hawaii to do something.. lemme know. Ill be glad to help!

My name's Matt, I'm 18 and I'm a physics student studying at the University of Wales, Swansea (UK); but I'm origonaly from Hong Kong (half chinese, half welsh) and I moved about 8 years ago (though I still visit HK for a 5 months of teh year).

I.....uh.......spout random things...

But yeah, I do some hobby based graphics stuff; I do banners, wallapers, avatars, blah, blah... for forums and websites, for free, and mostly of the Roleplaying variety.
Other then being a complete geek (sci-fi watching, star trek quoting, lightsaber wishing geek), I'm also an ex-athlete turned TAer (TA = tactical airsoft = paintballing with BB guns) and I'm also an online RP nut.

Yeah, methinks that covers it. :D

Hi all,

First off, GREAT IDEA on getting everyone's talents out. I have mainly been a lurker here, with the occassional post or two, and wrote some letters to support the campaign.

My name is Edward, but you can call me Eddie. I'm 32 years old and live in Chicago Illinois. I am in Commercial sales, and I'm damn good at it. If you need someone that can sell someone an idea, a product, whatever, I can do it. That being said, I have also done some writing for a small newspaper (BA in English) but realized that career path was leading me into a life of perpetual poverty ;)

I also was in the Army and believe that background combined with my creativity and sales skills make me an awesome asset and a big, bad frelling enemy! I would love to be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the community.

In my time visiting the board, I have been continually impressed by the achievements of the community and everyone's passion.

Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm in Calgary Alberta. I'm part of the Canadian Scapers who are growing all the time. I've just joined a group here in town that meet once a month, talk Farscape, recruit new people and are on a mission to eat food from a different country every meeting. I'm also working on a project called When Fans Fight back. It's not specifically geared at Farscape, but for all fans who've fought to keep a beloved show from being killed off. I'm a little tired of reading in the papers about the 'strange people' who are fighting to save such and such a show so I thought, why not write about why these people (Myself included) fight to save a show.

I don't have the web page up yet, but if anyone is interested in filling out a questionaire (and getting others to do it) send me an email at fansfightback@excite.com and voice your opinions.

There is a major con in Burbank Nov 17-20. Ben, Fran(his wife),Anth, Wayne, Gigi, Virginia, Raelee, Lani,---ach I'm forgetting some folks-- will be there.

Check it out at creationent.com

I'll be there for the fourth year in a row.

I've been on this board and others for a long time as you can see by the number of messages posted(plus the ones that crashed ages ago)

It's been long so I will say again I'm a retired nurse educator(meaning I taught student nurses for 18 yrs--plus years of clinincal practive)-- and yes! I'm older than dirt

Furlow is my avatar because I dress like her at the costume contests..

If you can come to the con, do--it's great seeing and talking to the cast, they are really nice folks.

I went to the website, and I must say that I want to go!!! My birthday is that weekend, so what a special present to me. I am looking in to going, but it is a challenge since it is last minute for me.

What a great range of spectrum of everyone who loves Farscape! It doesn't sound like you are old, just a woman who has a fancy means of transportation...i.e. red limo!!!! ;)

Thank you for the info....oh yeah, do you know why Claudia is not going to be there? It appears (according to the creations website) that she is the only one from the main cast that is not going to be there. I wonder why?

Thanks again!!!! :joy:

Claudia has said she has other obligations.

[edited by admin, speculation or discussion of the cast's private lives is not allowed, thank you]

The rest of the cast will more than make up for her absence. Anth is always outrageous, Raelee and Gigi are fun,Wayne is more quiet but has a wry sense of humor--they are all just great.

I bet you have a ball. If you are looking for scapers the main lobby in the building farthest from the convention hall is a gathering place and of course all the doings at the con hall are chances to meet and greet.

Come on down and enjoy

I can see that in her, also according to some of the interviews on the series' dvds, she appears to be a bit of a private person. Ben, too. It looks like he is only going to be there on Sunday.

Just thought you would like to know, that Claudia is already schedule to appear on Stargate SG1 for 2006. If you go to www.imdb.com; you can pull her up either by her name or title of the show. Good to know.

I hope you are having a good night!

A reminder for new members and veterans alike: We do NOT speculate about and/or discuss the private lives of any of the cast here at FMD. Period.

TINemo, your post above has been edited to reflect that.

Please do not speculate any further in your discussions. Thank you. :)

TINemo
10-18-2005, 11:26 AM
Oh please

The fact that she has other projects in the works is not speculation, it's been published and talked about---including by Claudia herself..

Ditto the fact that she's married. She announced it, if you will recall, at the last con--in response to an audience question-- and I think it's also on the DVD.

So what am I revealing or speculating on????????

I said she doesn't mingle-- and she doesn't. Never comes down off the stage.
And my 15 credits of psychology tells me that all her fidgetting with hair, and water bottles, and the guitar in 2003, etc etc means she's nervous. She has said the song at 2003 Burbank was *the scariest thing I've done"

Those are the facts, ma'am, IMHO!

And yes, Ben is a private person, at least as far as his family is concerned, but he's always done a great job in the Q & A and I've had some nice dialog with him at the breakfast and photo ops. I think you are correct in saying he'll only be there Sun.

The fact is, that this site likes to error on the side of privacy. If there's any indication that discussion of any given topic touching on their private lives makes an actor/writer/producer uncomfortable, we don't talk about it. It doesn't matter if it's common knowledge or who else or what other sites are talking about, or even if they've discussed it openly in the past.

It's just a matter of respect. It's a big internet, there are plenty of other places to talk about what is disallowed here.

The FACT is exactly what was stated. We do not discuss the private lives of the cast here. IT DOES NOT MATTER if it is discussed elsewhere. The policy HERE is that the personal lives of the cast are not a topic of discussion.

As for the rest of the paragraph, for one, it mentioned a spouse who has never been publicly identified---except by mistake by another cast member. Secondly, it addressed a speculative topic (perhaps you were unaware of that) that has already REPEATEDLY been nipped in the bud.

All that happened here was a reminder and an edit. If you decide to take offense at that, that's your choice. :dunno:

Otherwise, if people want to discuss cast members' projects, there are threads for that already underway. This thread is for another purpose, and has strayed from its topic far enough.

If anyone wishes to discuss it further, they are more than welcome to send a PM. Thank you.

No worries, ScaperByHeart. It's really not a big deal, just a reminder. :) And you are welcome here. It's a big board and it can be hard to navigate at first, so if you have any questions you can always PM one of us or even just post and we'll make sure it gets to the right place.

I have debated with myself about replying because obviously this is an important point for you.

Perhaps it does belong on another thread, although I was attempting to answer a question.Things don't always fall into such sharply divided cubby holes.

As for Claudia, I understand her wish for privacy. I would never ,for example, write about her health, her finances, her religion or whatever. Of course not.

But when she appears before hundreds of fans and talks openly (with film clips)about her projects in development or the fact that she got married, I fail to see why mentioning that should make her uncomfortable--or make you think she's uncomfortable.

As for what I think you mean by the other topic(?) I said I don't know where she lives at present--and I don't. We all know she was in London trying to film *Naked in London* because she said so(same time, same place). We know she'd been in Vancouver BC filming SG1. We know that she was in LA for the Saturn awards . And she's from Australia. That is absolutely all I meant.I neither know nor care where she is at this moment.

I apologize if I ruffled your feathers. Nothing I said was any kind of secret. The rest was my educated opinion-- which i guess I'm not allowed to express.--hmm freedom of speech anyone?

Thus endeth this topic as far as I'm concerned. Bye now :)

 First of all, this has nothing to do with freedom of speech. This is a privately-owned board and you agreed to abide by terms of service when you signed up for membership.

This topic is "important to me" because the board has a policy and it is my job to see that members abide by it. The only feathers ruffled here appear to be yours. But this thread will not degenerate into an argument when you have already been directed once to continue it in PM, if you feel the need to further express your opinion on the matter.

End of discussion.

Going back to the intended purpose of this thread, which I just found, btw...

My name is Randa, but most of my friends call me Rands. I've been part of the Farscape fandom since 2001, I believe. I'm from Lebanon but I moved to the US 4 months ago after I got a scholarship to finish my studies here, and will be staying until I graduate in 2007.

I'm 22 and currently in my junior year in university. I'm a film student and I plan on becoming a director. How that will work out, I don't know, but I'm working on it and my plans are usually better than John's ;)

And what I do best? Hmm. I'm fluent in 3 languages: Arabic, French and English. I take decent photographs and write poetry (http://randoodle.deviantart.com) every now and then. I love playing with Photoshop and making graphic art, which you can usually find on my website (http://www.preciousillusion.com) except I'm renovating it now. I also love webdesign and own two fansites: one dedicated to Canadian actress Carrie-Anne Moss (http://www.themosspit.net), the other to Swedish filmmaker Lasse Hallstrom (http://www.lasseonline.com).

That's about it, I believe :)

oh, i wouldn't make that assumption just yet.;) you'll find plenty of grandparents on this board. that's one of the amazing things about Farscape.

We would like to be a part of this, and help if we can, I dont know what we can contribute, but ask and we will try and comply.

the biggest thing, what had *always* informed the campaign when it was most active, is to pimp the show. Farscape is in syndication now, just started a couple weeks ago. find it and watch. have Farscape nights and do the pimp thing to your unsuspecting family and friends. take them by the hand and hold them tight while you introduce them to John Crichton and his amazing journey.

*that's* what this has ALL been about....helping the show find new fans. the rest will take care of itself. ;)

and Sharon may find the Montemarte subforums fascinating, and the costume makers will love her experience.

welcome to the crazy house. :smokin:

Its ashame that the serise was taken off the air, It was really good to see, .Sad thing is that where we live in Kansas, it was on late at night. so I missed some of them till i bought all the DVDs.BUT the most interesting think ever said by Chrighton was,,"in a nother reallity,,the CUBs are winning the series " Coffee went flying across the room, I laffed so hard,,sad ,,but its true, A die hard CUBs fan since the early 50s. I lived in Chicago for most of my life, then we moved to florida, then to Ks, and 9/11 hit and my company went bankrupt. But a long winded post to say HI...thanks for haveing us

Welcome! :hi:

Glad to have you aboard. I am also in the *cough*middleage*cough* group and am glad to have another couple join us. Trust me... you aren't alone.

And yes, I am still watching my Farscape DVDs as well as catching it in syndication. I admit it... I am a hopeless case. ;)

Hi All. New to this. Discovered Farscape a couple of weeks ago and I'm hooked. My name is Jacqueline. My friends call me Jacqueline. I'm an RN in Oklahoma City, and pretty much a "Jack of all trades". What can I do to help? Any Scapers in the OKC area?

Im Tammy 40 year old Photo Compositionist (fancy way of saying I blend pictures together) part time silversmith, and pretty darn good seamstress. I also do fundraising work for one of the Stargate room party groups (coins, lapel pins, patches, glassware). Living in mid Michigan. Have watched Farscape from day 1, I'm a rabid fan, I have a "Fargate" (Stargate with peacekeeper insignia) tattoo on my right shoulder blade.

I guess were the oldest people here it seems, but thats OK, were FarScape fans from the begining.

I don't know about that - I think I might give you a run for your money on the age thing. But I too am a Farscape fan from the begining. Loved the first episode I saw and now own the entire series and PKW on DVD. Managed to infect my daughter, gave up on my husband, and am working on my co-workers.

Who am I? I'm a somewhat past middle aged chemist, who lives in the Midwest, loves gardening and building things and an island in the Bahamas called Eleuthera.

What do I do best? I don't know if I've figured that out yet. Used to think I was a pretty good formulation chemist. I think I'll be a great retired chemist.

I am an office worker, Administrative Assistant, General Office, Clerical, etc., etc.

I have been hunting for decent job for a few months, so I have my skills list
ready to fax out with the resume. I am the Chicago area, so if anyone sees
this and thinks they may know where I can try to get a decent job.... well,
hey, don't hesistate to contact me with info.
As long as I have been job hunting, I keep trying to think where else I can
'network' with a lot of folks and see if anything turns up.
I am currently working as a Temp

Career Change!!! oh, make that Life Change!! (no, NOT change of life...;))

I am going to truck driving school. I want to get a Class A CDL (commercial driver's license).
So, I will have a whole new career as an over-the-road trucker.
At least for a year or so, until I get some good driving experience.

I love adventures and travel, so I am really looking forward to being a
trucker. I will certainly see more of the USA than I have so far in this life.

So, let me see, keep map reading skills and customer service skills (to some extent).
Computer knowledge will be a plus -- I will have to get a laptop in the near
future, so I can keep in touch with my family and friends and fellow 'Scapers.

Thank you, Talyn06!! This was Day 3 of truck driving school and I feel that
things are going well. I have learned to shift smoothly and stop and start
without jerking the passenger out of his seat! :) ... (I have never driven a vehicle with a shift in my life.)
