John's Lucky Ring

I was watching Premiere and noticed this...

When John, Aeryn, and D'Argo are being taken in by the PK Guards, one of the guards takes the ring John's father gave him--at least, I think that "Field Resourcfulness Exercise" was the ring. John tells the guard how to pull it apart, then tells him he's to figure out how to put it back together.

While the two guards are struggling over the ring, John takes one of their weapons and rushes over to Aeryn and D'Argo--apparently leaving the ring behind.

But the ring shows up again in "A Human Reaction".

Perhaps John manage to recover the ring after they unlocked Aeryn's cuffs?

no, I think John gets the ring back in another episode, but I can't remember which ep...

He has it as he leaves Moya and goes through the "wormhole" in "A Human Reaction". Later in that episode, he gives it back to his "dad". As he leaves at the end, his "dad" gives it back to him.

Is that what you're thinking of?

Good point. He must have grabbed it back from the PK guard before they bugged out of there. I can't imagine him leaving that behind.

No, I think John got the ring back in the episode where Rygel is 'kidnapped' and imprisoned. Not sure about that though....

Who would he have gotten it from, though? There aren't even any Peacekeepers in that ep. It's just another one of those charming little inconsistencies that pop up from time to time, like one that I recently noticed in Season 4 (which I will post on that thread).

In all probablility, it's probably something that was filmed (John grabbing it off the body of the PK), and then cut for whatever reason, if it was filmed at all. I think it's something that we all have to assume happened because it was such an important thing to him.
