Anybody hear of this? The latest episode (which features a couple duplicate teams, including about 14 Ben Browders) was going to include a version of himself that jumped through the gate yelling "What the Frell is going on here?"

Scene 20: Tiger Blue SG-1 come through the gate to end Act I

Alternate takes of the team coming through the gate included a confused Tiger Blue Mitchell asking "What the frell is going on here?!" and "What the frak is going on here?!"

It's kinda sad because instead we got a hillbilly version of him, not the Crichton version.

That would have gotten my attention, but I guess the there could be a pretty sound argument for not doing it. As a scaper I'm really glad that Ben and Claudia are on SG-1. But, no matter what you think of SG-1, it has a bigger following (or should it be viewership) than Farscape. Skiffy already has me interested enough to watch, and have kept me watching b/c of Ben and Claudia. But I wonder how, if at all, it effects hardcore SG-1 fans. So my thinking is that maybe the Frell comment is too much and was opted not to include to prevent losing solid SG-1 fans by their heads actually exploding.

One thing about SG-1 that I have noticed, I think almost every SciFi television show since TNG has been represented.

Clearly Farscape, TNG, Enterprise, BSG, Voyager, and Firefly come to mind. Now that I am thinking of it, I can't think of anyone from DS9, Lexx, or B5.

It's one thing to reference other shows when none of its actors are there. But having Ben utter a Farscapsim, well that's too weird, even for multiple overlapping realities. Show of hands: how many people besides me were thinking of "Unrealized Realities" throughout the ep?

Oh yeah. To be honest, this episode did nothing to change my perspective that Stargate is terribly unoriginal. Frankly, I think that Farscape reference would've been the only entertaining part.

Hmmmm, riddle me THIS bat(ty ones)... Is it possible that this has happened before or am I just seeing things...

Recently on SG-1, a Prior (sp?) played by William B. Davis (C.G. Spender on X-Files) is delivering some hoo-ha litany with regard to the Ori and Ben turns away from him and says (mostly under his breath) "Blah blah blah blah blah"... and so on.

In "Suns and Lovers"... while magnetized to a detachable outer-hull door ANOTHER religious fanatic is ALSO engaged in some hoo-ha litany ... as Ben turns away from her and says (mostly under his breath) "Blah blah blah blah blah"... and so on.

Not that "Blah blah blah...." is a FarScapism... but the parallel seems.... odd.

oddly enough when ben did that in sg1 i immediately thought of farscape but couldnt quite place it. i even watched coup by clam to see if thats what i was thinking of but suns and lovers i think you're spot on i will have to go watch that now!

I watch SG1 religiously cuz of Ben and Claudia but I am in no ways a convert. The spousal unit, the best friend and even the boy is tired of my whining about the story, plot, acting, etc. They tell me I could just say no but..... like any FS addict, just seeing the two of them gives me a fix.

I think it would denigrate F/S to have someone utter a 'scapism in SG1.

But, that's just MHO

I kind of agree with you marandken, on all counts. I too watch (Ben) and wince (at the boring stories), and yes, the last thing you said.

This little bit in Ripple Effect made me giggle thinking of a Farscape reference that is very much a John expression.

"MITCHELL(GREEN): .........why didn't we end up on alternate PX7 when we gated through to check out bizarro SG-1s story."

Made me think of bizarro Moya. Does anyone think Ben may have slipped that in?
