Wow, that's wild! Well, Ricky Eyres did say that he used early 20th century Russian design as his inspiration for the PKs. I didn't think he meant it so literally...

Go to this page (http://www.savefarscapecanada.com/media_kit.shtml). About 2/3 of the way down the page is a discussion on the PK symbol. Farscape Canada included a brochure of this discussion which we sent out with our Media Kits to promote PK Wars last year.
Quite a lot of symbolism included in this painting. Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge. :D Very layered storytelling.
wow, Nicola! that page is great. you canadians are not Pakleds.

Thanks! I think.
What's Pakleds?
from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Pakleds are plump, doughy beings who know they're not the sharpest tools in the galactic shed. when their silly little plan for galactic domination fails, they say to each other,"We are not smart, we are Pakleds."
you, Nicola, and the rest of your Canadian Farscape brethren are not Pakleds.

Thank you! (Now that I know the reference. ;) ) All I could think of was the Pak'ma'ra, carrion eaters from Babylon 5 and I was confused by the comparison.
But I understand now... and thanks!
(Have you listened to The Scapecast (http://www.scapecast.org/) yet? We have plenty of those kind of articles coming in the future! An expanded version of that one even....)
i went to your scapercast site. wow. you guys really did a great job. i didn't get through the whole thing, but i'm definitely going back. really, one of the best fan sites for anything i've ever seen. or heard.

Thank you!
We did lots of work in a short amount of time. Considering that we only committed to do this podcast on March 20th and here we are - a little over a month later, deep in the throes of our second episode. ;)
Wanna audition to be writer? We are always looking for writers, and anyone who can write the quote I snurched for use in my signature would fit right in... ;)
thanks. that's a heck of an offer. let me know what something like that would entail and we can certainly talk about it.

PM me a sample of your writing - about 250 words explanation why you love Farscape and we will take it from there. ;)
i'll work on that! sounds like fun.
