Dearly beloved,

We are gathered here today to remember Arrested Development, the absolute genius of a comedy show that should have gone on forever but, being sat on and thrown in the mud and then flushed down the toilet by Fox studios (who did worse with Firefly), left in limbo for it to be picked up, and then, finally, decided upon by its genius of a writer Mitch Hurwitz that the show should now come to a close, has in fact, come to a close after 3 screamingly funny series. How these networks kill the great shows is almost a crime.

Anyway, I am angry but wish to come here and spread that word to the good folk here that this show was an absolute scream and won Emmys etc and deserves to be held in such a high regard as to be a Classic. It is up there with the best of comedies - think Yes Minister, think Fawlty towers, Black Adder, Red Dwarf etc classic!! (not in style but quality) - do not think happy lovy feel good comedy shows like Everyone loves Raymond and Friends.

It had cameos from many big name actors and actresses.

Jason Bateman anchored it but characters like David Cross (Tobias), Tony Hale (Buster) and Will arnet to name a few (the mum also) produced such a stell enesemble of a cast as to probably not be repeated in a comedy of the like.

There is a chance that it will come to Showtime with Mitch occasionally giving suggestions but they said they would not do it without his directorship.

Long Live Arrested Development

RIP with Firefly and Farscape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone here actually watch Arrested Development or like it?

I really think that people who like good and clever (and funny) Sci-fi will like this show so REALLY strongly advise you to give the show a go.

Here are some more names of people who made guest appearances in episodes:

Claudia Black (just kidding but I hope I got your attention)
Portia De Rossi (main character)
Ron Howard (Narrator)
Henry Winkler (the Fonz plays a lawyer)
Ellaine from Seinfeld
Ben Stiller
Ben Stiller's wife
Guy from Scrubs
Martin Short
Liza Minelli

Are you sold yet??????????
Many more

Tell more people and spread the word!!!!!!

I've bought the DVDs and have listend to the cast commentary episodes. That cast is so funny - especially David cross and Will Arnet - fair dinkum!

Season 1 commentary had them all there but season 2s may have been funnier.

It has huge replayability value.

Because people only watch the crap. It's a shame really. Maybe AD was just one of those shows that was ahead of its time.

I'm glad we got what we did. And that finale was perfect. If a show is to go out on top, I want it to be like that.

I agree. It might be hard to do anything else at this point, story-wise.

I want to see Gob become interested in extra-terrestrial life and trying to contact aliens. I then want him to develop a whole repertoire of magic tricks (I mean 'illusions') do perform to the aliens when he makes contact with them!!!!!

I possibly want to see either Gob or Tobias in another series get into Classical music and explore comedy within that setting - orchestra, etc. Gob wanting to become a conductor just to look at the pretty ladies and try and control them etc wave his arms around. Maybe Tobias could do Ballet.

I loved the finale.

"It's the SEC"
"They still have boats"

I love shows that make fun of themselves. It's wonderful.

Haha yeah and Arrested did almost nothing besides that in the third season.
