I finally got to read the transcript from the SaveFarscape.com chat (sorry, it's been a busy weekend,) and I think that there is a lot of Farscape fans in CT.
If you've read the thread, they mension that we should continue to write to the networks, but we should also "attack" the local news.
I would like to get all CT fans together, maybe start a CT Scapers site or something just to get orginized.
Let's hear from you!

Was hoping to find some more CT fans. I'm just north of you in Granby and I'm definately interested in coordinating our efforts.
I was going to look into the Advocate soon and at least send them an e-mail but I don't want to do what has already been done.

Just read the profiles
http://www.wdsection.com/community/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3621
and it looks like there's a couple of us on the board.
I been in email contact with Thirgen and he lives in Easton. I live in Hamden. Unfortunately I don't drive but my family are big Farscape fans so if we do something coordinated I might be able to make it.

heh, all you guys are a tad north of me, but CT isn't all that big of a state I guess ;)
Live in Milford, commute to Stamford. I don't have all that much 'free/at home time' these days, but I'd be glad to lend a hand :)

I'm really too busy to organize anything, but am willing to help in any way I can. If you folks want a forum for CT scapers, let me know and I'll put up one on my site for us.

Hartford, CT here. My boyfriend got me hooked on Farscape a couple years ago, and now It's my favorite show. I'll check this thread daily to see if anyone organizes anything in Connecticut.
Now, both of my favorite things are endangered - Manatees and Farscape!

What I was looking to do was to get a "center point" for us who live here in Connecticut. I was going to put a page or two on my personal site so that we could have references to Channels 3, 8, 30, 61 and the Hartford Courant. We need to write to them to let them know our cause. Then, if they are interested enough to interview us, they will have a point of contact.
Also, I was wondering if anyone here was planning on attending/putting together a rally on October 5th.
I hope to have some kind of page ready by Wednesday so we can start co-ordinating.

Okay, Connecticut fans, I've started a small page that will be local to our area. This is just a page for now, but I hope to fill it with "Save Farscape - Connecticut Branch" soon.
Let me know what you guys think so far...

Just south of Hartford myself.
I was planning on going down to the big NYC rally on the 5th. I've already gotten 3 other people committed to going.
However, if something is set-up locally, I'd be happy to travel there. The more rallies there are, the more media attention we'll receive...
jfranka: I like the site, but you have to change the background! It's driving me batty! :D

Yes, I am in Easton. Have some major startup work to deal with for the foreseeable future, but I am available pretty much any time with notice. I am almost always in front of the machine and on the board so email or send me a PM if you want me. I would love to get together with the rest of the CT group. I also have a pretty cool idea of something we could do with the NY people that might get some serious attention.

I work at a cool video store. Best Video 1842 Whitney Ave Hamden CT. I work FRI nights and Sat and Sun Aft.-Late Eve. Come in and introduce yourself. I'd love to talk. If you're not a member already I'll buy you a membership. (14.95 value). Just look for the old guy with the long black (greying actually pigtail) and say "Save Farscape". If you work in New Haven or live in Cheshire its a snap.

I'll get that fixed by tomorrow with more info. Anybody got a nice picture of Moya in a black backround I can use? :)

The site is looking very good. Thanks for putting it together. I know all the Advocates have the addresses listed in one place on the net. Who to contact is the question. They had names for editors and circulation but now specific topics, ie. tech/internet topics.
I work in New Britain and have done things with the New Britain Herald will look into who to contact there.

Hey guys,
This is another CT scaper...
Just up from SD in CA for graduate studies at the all mighty Yale.
I actually went to "witness" this movement thing today and so I took a couple of Farscape fliers... had people looking at me, but nothing to productive.
anyways, I would be up for a rally thing... been trying to convince my roommates that Farscape's a good thing.

I've changed the backround and added a couple of links. Sorry this is going so slowly but I've been forced a lot of overtime this week.
I think the first thing we need to co-ordinate is what we are going to do for Oct 5th. Are we going to rally in New York or in Connecticut? If so where in Connecticut? etc.

Glad I found you guys! I've been moping around for 2 weeks driving the old man crazy... I think Roger Catlin would be the contact for the Hartford Courant. I live in Berlin, btw.

Hi. My husband and I live in Wallingford and definitely want to do all we can to SAVE FARSCAPE!
As far as Oct. 5th goes, I think we should rally in Hartford, IF we can get enough people -- maybe 40 at minimum? A small group would just sort of look pathetic. Hartford is probably best location, as we can draw from Springfield, MA, southern VT and Albany, NY areas as well. (We should make sure no one's planning anything in those areas to avoid redundancy.)
By the way, I don't think this needs to be a terribly long event. Even if you can commit just an hour or two, that's great. And we can make it fun -- not just chanting and holding signs (Frell no, we won't go! ;) ).
If the count comes up less than 40, I'd rather travel to NYC (maybe we could meet and take the train together).
I've set up a topic at the Farscape Global Community - Connecticut Forum. Please follow this link to let me know if you can come. (Don't respond here!!) Thanks!

Hi everyone.
I've added some of the major media contacts to the site, information on the Connecticut rally, and the link to thread that talks about orginizing the rally.
I haven't had the chance to test all the links. (It's too frelling late.) So if there's something wrong, or some info you want to add or some suggestions, please contact me.
Thanks!

Let's keep our thread towards the top.
There seem to be a good number of us.
So, I have been quite busy, and still am, but we should definitely be making some noise in CT.
I am gonna put up some of the flyers on Yale campus.
(have you seen the awesome "wanted" posters? They need a bit of altering, but they are great)

Hi everybody.
We are going to have our first "Save Farscape" meeting at West Farms Mall at 7:30pm on Tuesday, October 1st. We will meet in the middle of the mall where the fountains used to be, near customer service. (Customer service is where the coffee shop was near the fountains.)
Please bring any "Save Farscape" items you may have: flyers, posters, media, etc.
The idea of the meeting is to get together to brainstorm, maybe get together for the rally on Saturday, and, at the very least, meet other Farscape fans from CT.
Tonight I will post the time and a map on
Http://www.JFAPlanet.com/farscape.htm
Hope to see you there!

Took me 5 minutes to find our nice thread.
Just wondering about last night's results from anyone who went.
Also, I have begun littering yale campus with fliers... (not that much, but a few). I put the first one up last night around 6 outside one of my classes, and by 7 (class was over), I noticed I already had one thing taken. Needless to say, I believe we can with great confidence propagate out this 1hr/1 person rate... and so by (I think) Friday we should have a few hundred ppl willing to meet up...
-not really... anyways, I', just trying to generate info about the show to ppl. I used the Scorpius/John posters mainly with some slight editing on the links.

hmmm....... so only NYC or boston...
I would probably have made a CT trip... but NYC or Boston... ugg..... that's a good couple hours plus traffic and big city stuff....
Well, is there anything those of us who aren't going can do?
Or better yet, who is and isn't planning to go to a rally (be it NYC or elsewhere)

I'm from East Hampton (a very small town in between Middletown and Glastonbury)
It's too bad I missed your meeting at West Farms, because I really would like to get involved in the rallies and stuff, but NYC is too far for me to drive (I'm 17, and I've only had my license for a little while). I'd love to participate in the next meeting, and I have a number of friends from school who would come also. Whoever's in charge, keep us posted!

I'm just throwing this out there to jump start the conversation again. I looked at where we're from and the majority of us are from the Bridgeport/Fairfield, Hartford & New Haven areas.
Waterbury is the logical meeting place, I think.
Therefore, can we talk about getting together at a restraunt at the Waterbury Mall on either Nov. 13, 14 or 15?
We have a lot of things we can talk about especially advertising and Farscape in general.

Hey, all, just passing this along. This is NOT for the bar rally. This is usually just a party. For more immediate info join the NYCAreaScapers list at Yahoo.com here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NYCAreaScapers/
Space is LIMITED to get your eemas over there and sign up for the party!

Subject: Scaper Sunday
OK, the two Sundays that look good are Dec 1 (but this might too
close to the con for some...are there actually con activities going
on on the 1st?) and most likely, Dec. 8. And someone get ahold of
Celtic Kraut who I have not heard from yet and get the word out...the
whole point is to team up with our 'northern' cousins and share the
insanity! And for you newbies on the list Scaper Sundays look like
this:
My home in Hamden CT...email me off list for directions.
time: 1 pm- til everyone leaves...we've had some die hards stay until
1, i think.
food is potluck ...and as soon as we have
a definite day our mistress of the database can set one up for who
will be bringing what and you can sign up.
Then it's just sit back and let the mayhem begin.
Peace,
birthsister (birthsister@lycos.com)

Sorry I've been so slow with the updates, (I was planning to do one a week,) but because of a lot of OT at work, Halloween, and a family emergency, I dropped out of the loop for a while.
I've finally updated the CT Save Farscape site - Http://www.JFAPlanet.com/Farscape.htm - and I've add a table of all the 'Scapers from Connecticut I've seen on this and the FGC forum. Please: if you want your e-mail added to the list or you want to be added or something let me know!
Hope this helps - again, sorry for the delay...

hi all,
Sorry for bothering you. Well, my mom would move anywhere in Ohio. But, we would like your help in what area we should move to. You can help us by answering these questions. 1)What does the area look like? 2)What is the job market like? 3) Is there public transportation? 4) How often does it run? 5) How do I get to doctors? 6) What is the medical coverage like? 7) What is the rents for the apts? 8) Are the Apts near public transportation?
