On the Starburst Edition DVDs, Season 1 Collection 1, the commentary for PK Tech Girl is supposed to be one of the special features as it is listed on the back of the case and on the insert, but I cannot find it! Am I just passing it up somewhere or is it hidden as an easter egg somewhere or did they forget to put it on the DVD or what? I've heard the commentary before on the original Farscape DVDs and I really want to have it in my collection. Help anyone?

Yes, it's listed on the case. No, it's not on the DVD. IIRC, I've heard that they intended to do PKTG, but wound up doing Jeremiah Crichton instead (and ran out of time/money to do another commentary and forgot to remove PKTG from the case.)

Hmm...I could have sworn I heard commentary for PKTG before on the older DVD sets? Okay, I have another question: there's one Ben/Claud commentary for one of the earlier episodes, that's hilariously funny, and at the end they sing the last note of the ending credits together and they're both horribly off-key. It's my favorite one, and I thought it was PKTG, but maybe that was Jeremiah Crichton?

Hi CD
If its any consolation, the box sets released in Australia don't have a single commentary, just a trivia quiz and some photos.

Well, the one Ben/Claudia commentary that comes to mind that is funny as hell and that kinda prompts Claudia to sing at the end is from season 2, episode The Locket. Not sure if you mean that one, but it's worth checking it out! But I think you probably mean the one to Throne For A Loss, but that's only Claudia doing some funny notes while Ben sorta reads the credits....

Ugh? I got my season 4 boxset from Oz just because it has different commentaries than the rest. There's 5 different ones on my DVDs that are neither on the R2 UK release, nor the R1 US release (boxset, dunno if they are going to be on the Starbursts).
They are:
Crichton Kicks - done by Gigi Edgley and Andrew Prowse
John Quixote - done by Tony Tilse and Sean Masterson
Unrealized Realities - done by Anthony Simcoe and Andrew Prowse
Constellation of Doubt - done by Anthony Simcoe and Andrew Prowse
Bad Timing - done by Gigi Edgley and Andrew Prowse

Aw, that's sucks.
I simply can't remember what episode that commentary is from. Guess I'll just have to buy them all to find out! :D

hey to you all, from the newbie.
interesting that all those commentary are by aussies. and i think it makes me a little itchy knowing there are alternate commentary trax down under that we're not supposed to hear. why do they not think that everyone wants to hear practically anything those from the show have to say on this subject? i am already trying to figure out a way to get and rip the region 4 disc with the crichton kicks commentary. (CK is one of my top five desert island episodes). i had felt really bummed they didn't consider that episode commentary-worthy. do i feel a little less bummed that they don't think region 1 is worthy of the commentary?

Hi Blitzed
If you are interested, it is possible to record that commentary onto a normal audio CD.
You would just have to press play on your DVD player and CD player at the same time, rather than lashing out for the Aussie versions, just to get 5 commentaries.

Based on what I remember from chats/have gleaned from interviews, each region's DVDs are produced by a different company. The DVD company decides it wants to pay to create the commentaries and put them on its DVDs. That's why the commentaries differ from region to region.
When ADV created the additional commentaries for the Starbursts, they had to get Ben, Claudia, Rockne, and DK to a recording studio, all at the same time, and pay them for the commentaries they did. I imagine that it is for this same reason that the Australian DVD commentaries are made with people living in Australia. (Along with the difficulty of getting several very busy people together in one place all at the same time, adding business class overseas airfare to the cost of the commentaries gets expensive!)

To quote myself, LOL:

It's "Family Ties"! I recently got my Starburst 1.3 in the mail that I ordered off eBay and watched the Ben/Claud commentary for FT and there it was. I think I heard the commentary before when I rented the old DVD sets from BlockBuster. But anyway, for anyone who's interested:
(last few seconds of end credits)
Claudia (after Ben discusses using jet engines on set for...some reason or another): "Don't they understand about my hair and how important it is to keep it in place?"
Ben: *laughs*
C: "It's all about the hair."
B: "Hold on. Ready?"
*sing last note together, painfully off-key*
B: "Good night."
And that's what I was looking for. I can sleep well now. Good night. :D
