ATTENTION SAN DIEGO SCAPERS - San Diego Rally Update

Just got to work after driving north from the rally downtown. Attendance was pretty low, but there's still some hope that a few more people will show up before they pack it in. I'd imagine that most people didn't want to get up this early... :confused:

But hope is not lost. Kithlyara, the event's planner, is also trying to put together a gathering/rally on October 5th at a saner hour. I'll leave it to her to post the where and when.

So this is my official plea for all San Diego area Scapers to attend the event on October 5th.

-- It's a Saturday, so you can't beg out because of work.
-- It's probably going to be in the middle of the day, so you can't complain that it's too early.
-- I'll bring plenty of sunscreen for the fairer set so you can't plead sunburn risk.

October 5th... write it down, put it in your PDA, type it into Outlook, whatever... just BE THERE.... PLEASE! :D

We really need a big turnout to make a difference. It's hard to garner public support with only 3 people.

I used to be in SD until August.

The biggest group of likely support you can get would probably be DARKSTAR.

This is the scifi/gaming club at UCSD....

I forget who is in charge now, but they are definitely the ones you want to try to reach.... They have a good number of members, and are pretty pro-active on the whole. (or were at least)
I think Elisa used to be.... she had good contacts....

that's the website. Contact them if you guys are serious about a turnout... Also, the yearly comicon thingy in SD, I would think there would be a lot of scapers in SD.

When: Noon to 5pm
Where: Park Blvd and Presidents Way in Balboa Park
Bring: Save Farscape T-Shirts, Flyers, Banners, Signs, and anything else you can think of if you can, but most of all, bring YOURSELF :0 )

I don't really have anything specific planned, but I'm kind of planning this on my own. Do you have any ideas? Anything you would like to do? I would LOVE suggestions! :D
