Hi all, 'reborn' scaper from Australia here making my first post ;)
First of all I'd like to say that this is probably the most active and helpful Farscape community I've come across in my searches on the net. Unfortunately, die hard scape-mania seems to have all but died out in recent years... a lot of fan sites are out of date, missing content, or have simply been taken down, which is an awful shame. This leads me to the pessimistic conclusion that the Farscape fanbase is slowly but surely dying - the fact that this year's Burbank con is the final "official" con affirms my fears. :( It's even worse down here in Australia, where Farscape was treated horribly by our TV networks (season 1 screened, season 2 screened in the ridiculously early hours of the morning, and I'm not even sure whether season 3 or 4 were shown here at all - I had given up at that point), though I had the comfort of fan sites and fan fic to keep me sedated, until now.
So I need a new fix of active Farscape fan sites to keep me going, at least until the new webisodes come out! Preferably sites with forums where other scapers gather, but as long as I know that there are some dedicated scapers out there that I can support, I'll be happy :)
Thanks!

Hello avisotin!
Farscape isn't dead. Do you know about the webisodes? I wouldn't be surprised if the fan sites pick back up once the webisodes are out.
BTW... The last time I heard, the Burbank con may not be the last one.

Yeah - the webisodes are coming soon. And that is a very positive sign.
Plus.... FarscapeChick is right, maybe this isn't the last con after all...;)

Well, I hope you're right, but I am a little unsure about where a new Farscape series would begin. Even though I haven't watched PKW yet (only up to Season 2 at the moment) I've heard that a lot of questions were answered and that a lot of characters have died (please don't elaborate on this, I don't want anything else to be spoiled :P) so it's as if too much was done in PKW to wrap-up Farscape. It will be interesting to see what kind of storyline the webisodes develop.
Do you guys know any particular fansites I can check out, particularly for up-to-date Farscape news?

Up to date information can be found here first, as and when it comes out. And welcome to the board avisotin. :hi:
Television without Pity has an active Farscape board, http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showforum=836
mostly about the episodes themselves, http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showforum=846
and some very entertaining recaps of the episodes. TWoP has committed to recapping the entire series. And there's Terra Firma.
But I would agree that news would be here first. By the way, welcome to FMD! We're all glad you found us. :)

Ha! Who told you that? Some questions were answered (they kinda had to to go forward with the mini) but a huge number of questions were left dangling. :headbang:
I am hoping that these questions will be answered ... soon. :)

Nicola, I hope so too, but only time will tell I guess :)
Thanks for the links to other fansites. I'm also having a good time listening to the Scapecast (http://www.scapecast.org)- great podcast, I never thought you could find so much news and such to put into a 40min show!
Are there any more I should know about?

Not to play this one is better than your one game, but Terra Firma IS whare it's at. Some of the greatest minds who can work the prose, artwork, and friendly concerns, fun and camaraderie. And the stars of the show make surprise appearances on threads when you least expect it,AND answer you, unexpectedly and scarily.
And I'll say it again,Frell Me Dead has some great writers, real knowledge, not just "I heard" but real knowledge too,but Terra Firma just has so much more PLUS the great writers and REAL knowledge. Plus bickering and differences of opinions and, and,and just everything.
Even after a good row, we skulk a bit ,but come back for more, nonetheless.

Hi avisotin. Closer to home, if Sydney is only a wormhole away...

Keep an eye out for Tascape in January. This is an informal BBQ and an opportunity to thank the cast and crew for all their good work. That is if any of the cast and crew turn up LOL but the fans are good value if they don't turn up.:)
I mean it is good to meet the fans if none of the cast and crew turn up.

Thanks Afarscapefan, I've joined the group and hopefully their updates will help me out with my Farscape fix :)
I have heard about Tascape but am still not sure whether I will make an appearance. I'm really jealous of the Burbank con audience because they get to see Ben and Claudia almost every year! Considering most of the cast are Australian, why there isn't even an Aussie con I'll never know! (Unless the actors have all moved to the USA or something, lol.)
One thing I've realised on a lot of Farscape forums/groups is that there are very few updates on anything Farscape :\ The webisodes, for example. Is the fact that they're in production the only news item that's been announced?

There **IS** an Australian con. ;) ;) :)
OzScape was held in 2005 (with over 20 guests) and a smaller one in 2007.
The next big OzScape is planned for June 2009 and will be held in Melbourne.

Oh I know, I was just asking why there wasn't an official con in Australia akin to the Burbank cons.
