Bagram Afghanistan Global Rally

I sent this out over the Rally Resistance list, but thought there may be some interested parties who weren't part of the list. If you saw the email then just move on, nothing new here.


I wanted to pass along a note I got from my cousin in Afghanistan. They are going to join us in the global rally! I have encouraged him to post the information and that his plans are more than adequate, though I did ask him to take a picture to share. Since he may be unable to post the rally soon, I wanted to let everyone know.

Well the best i can do is on Sat. , i can get about 15-20 soldiers
together to write letters(we have free mail) and watch Farscape on
DVD.(we have the best of season 1 and 4 episodes of season 2). This is
the best i can do on short notice , is this enough to post on the
website??? I don't want to be a dispointment to the cause. Please let me
know, we are still getting together no matter what. You be suprise how
many people like this show ou here. Also as well as writing to protest
Farscape being taken off the air, we are going to include a request to
have it on AFN(armed forces network.) We already get star trek , why
can't we get the best sci-fi show on tv :)

I wanted to say thank you to all the kind replies I've received for my cousin. I will be forwarding them to him to share with his fellow scapers and soldiers.

I just received another email from him and posted the rally on the savefarscapecentral website. He assures me he will take plenty of pictures for all to see.

I will send off a note to CNN Headline News - Hotwired and the networks. Maybe it will make them at least stop and read.

There were a couple offers to send additional DVDs in a care package. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. Amazingly someone has already told me they would do so.

I am touched by the outpouring of support. Scapers are truly a special breed.

I will be sending you some pics from are rally here , i hope you will enjoy them and pass them on. Most likly on mon or tues when i can upload them from the dital camrea i borrowed

I wish i would of had more time to put this thing together, i maybe could had more people. We had 12 to 15 soldiers come out and a few more stop by, we watched the pilot and cracker's don't matter :) We
wrote a few letters and took some pics and talk about the show.. My friend Sgt Andre Lejeune help me a lot.

just to let you know we did'nt get wave signs that much( i had three day not enough time get base permission for a rally) I did my best though are signs we made from card board( poster board is hard to find out here) I tried to get covered in our base paper but as again the short notice.. If they do this again before i go i may be able to do more.. Good news i may be able to upload our pics by monday.. i hope i did ok wish we could have done more.. Hope the cause will win though..

There seems to be some problems with the savefarscapecentral photos page, so I put everything together (email, photos, little info) onto one of my websites. I am not a good webpage designer so it is very bare, but it gets the point across and you should be able to see the pictures. Let me know if there are still problems.

If you look at the pics and you are wondering what "MRE Crackers don't matter" means.

MRE stands for Meals Ready to Eat. They are the plastic bags of dehydrated/freeze dried food stuffs that the military feeds the troops in combat situations. They are notoriously nasty... but I always liked the turkey :)
