Here's the first short report, and please bear with my english. ;)

First I missed my train, therefore me and the flyers were 20 minutes late. When I arrived at Wallrafplatz, almost everyone was already there. Including our personal police man. :D
We were 16 people, which was in fact far more than we had expected. :)
So we handed out flyers, held up our ratscape wanted posters and took a lot of pictures. Sadly very few people here in Germany have ever heard of Farscape. So most of the time we were busy explaining what the show is about. And it didn't help that Farscape isn't on the air here right now. But some people showed interest and promised to visit our websites and even to write a letter.
Then a guy from the German internet radio sf-radio.de showed up and interviewed us.

Around midday it started raining. But hey, we are Scapers, we don't stop just because we are wet and cold and tired and hungry. Ok, that's not entirely true. ;)
Around 2:30 we decided to have a break and find a warm place and some much needed food. But it was Saturday, and we were in the main shopping area of Cologne. So we had to walk a bit to find a restaurant. All the way, we were showing our posters to the passers-by, handed out more flyers and answered a lot of questions. Then finally we found a Pizza Hut that actually had enough room for 16 starving Scapers.
About an hour later we headed back towards the Dom (that's the huge gothic cathedral and symbol of Cologne). And our strange little procession was in fact attracting a lot of intrigued glances. We continued our "demonstration" in front of the Dom for a while, but due to the weather which was continually getting worse, some of us decided to head home, and the rest took shelter inside the Dom. At about 4 or 4:30 pm we eventually split up.

To sum this all up: Although we probably didn't "assimilate" many new viewers, we had a lot of fun, met a bunch of very nice people and contributed to the cause by taking many pictures so you guys in the USA can say that this was indeed a Global Rally.

Stay tuned for more pictures on www.anduranova.net and additional reports from other German Scapers.

Looking at the pics, I can't help the feeling that we're all completely crazy, but... we rock, nevertheless! *g* (Heck, even the filkers at the con this weekend looked at me strangely when I told them what I did on Saturday... *g*)

Hey, even though the weather was bad it looks like you guys had a good time. Why was the policeman there? And what was that group of drummers in blue and white doing marching through there? Enquiring minds want to know!

We did not have much impact, but we had a really good time in the rain, which didn't bother us at all. We had so much fun - i think we're going to rally again even if no second rally is planned. But there will be another global one, won't it? It seems like we were not the only ones having fun. There might be rain again, but rain doesn't matter, thus can be ignored.
I feel that Braca was with us this day.

The "group of drummers" was part of a procession playing marching music all along in the rain. Call yourself lucky that you did not have to *hear* it in close distance. Rain and marching music is a terrible combination, but we're scapers - we're used to masochism. We kind of like it. As we noticed that we might have something in common with the people listening to this horrible music in the rain there - one of us instantly went over with his farscape banner. :)

The policeman was dedicated to us, to watch over. German bureaucratism. You can't rally where you want - you have to formally announce it, before you start. The police guy was having a good time apart from getting wet in the rain. He was leaving early to drink some beer for compensation and almost certainly tell his wife / children about us "freaks" who stood in the midst of the rain, laughing, joking and handing out wet flyers. I must admit that the rain was so much part of our rally, that subsequently i am not fully able to ignore it.

Scape Noctem, Christoph.

Thanks for the pics, Andura Nova :D

Seeing this now I wish I could have been there. German Scapers rock !! How many flyers did you manage to give to people ? And who's that guy interviewing you ? Was the interview aired somewhere ?

Questions over questions :lol Forgive me but I feel SciFi-Forum deprived, or am I the only one who can't access the forum anymore ?

Btw. The police guy seemed to like his job that day ;)

Actually I have no idea how many flyers we managed to hand out. Maybe 300 or 400 or 500. I didn't count.

And the guy interviewing us was David Meiländer from www.sf-radio.de. The Show is called Audio 51 and will air on October 18th. I hope my voice won't sound too squeaky. :D

Oh and btw, scififorum.de is history, you will find the new Board at www.sf-community.de.
I hope to see you there soon. ;)
