Hey all -
There will be an "official" report later when the rally organizer has a few microts to string something together <g> and I will post it here, but here is a preliminary report of the day:
That rasping sound you hear is my voice after participating in the Fifth for Farscape global rally yesterday. LOL. Our rally was small compared to the 68 or so ralliers in London and the 80 that came out for one of the others (we were only 13 in number or so) but we were loud, proud, and had cookies (4 kinds, all with Farscape-themed names like Crichton's Crunchies and Scorpy Chip Cookies <g>) and Starburst candies! (Bribery through food is a wonderful thing). We rallied in front of the Chum TV building, which houses Space, the network that plays Farscape eps here in Canada. Well, after appearing at Speaker's Corner a number of times (a booth that you drop a dollar in the slot, record a video message and the tv station picks the best ones - we had one with an imitation of the Queen, I SO hope it gets picked, it was hilarious!), we handed out flyers and food for a couple of hours and then moved on to the Silver Snail (comic book store) & handed out more flyers and food till we were out! We handed out all (300 or so) except for the ones we plastered at Speaker's Corner, two we taped to a telephone pole, two we got posted in the comic shop, and one that the rally organizer kept for herself as a souvenir. LOL.
We had good response - most folks took a flyer even if they had no idea what we were talking about. One guy crumpled his up and threw it at us (how rude!), but on the other end of the spectrum, one guy came up and said "BEST show on television!" to which, of course, we began cheering wildly! And of course we had some who liked the show but didn't know it was cancelled.
After the comic shop, we then went to the pub for a couple of hours (and left a flyer on the table when we left <g>), then 6 of us went to the rally organizer's apartment to watch some Farscape! <g> I didn't get home till 2:30 am so I'm kinda beat. But we had a blast! :D

(And no, the French maids weren't us, they were doing promotion for a "risque" store down the street! :rollin:
