It isn't so :space: out there!
My family has been designing hand made cards for years to send on any and all special occasions. :aok:
How about a horrific pic of Natira or Scorpius, Grayza even on the forward cover and the word
BOO! ........ inside?
For Thanksgiving we can have a whole flock of... lessee who is the FarScape turkey? Or a pic of that great spread Chiana prepared for Crighton's misfits on "Family Ties."
Sorry to interrupt the flow... but there is a spoiler from a season 3 ep in the next paragraph... fyi
And for Chirstmas! How about using that great closing shot of Aeryn's star glinting off the window when Aeryn & Crichton kiss in "Green Eyed Monster?" Inside of course it can say :D
"Have a FarScape Christmas!"
I've been thinking about it for a while but finally put it down due to inspiration from
Cat Hair Studios (http://www.cathairstudios.com/)
Now doesn't :lizard: that just get yer creative juices flowin'? :lol
Shooting tover to see the Halloween fliers now! :trans:

I like the Halloween and Thanksgiving ideas particularly. Is it possible to set these up as e-cards?

I would love to! ... but I don't know how :headbang:
Anyone reading this?:bounce: Do you know how to set ecards up?
Oooo! I can see another contest coming on! The FarScape Special-Occasions & Holiday ecards contests...
Every day's a Holiday with FarScape!
  :pop: :jedi: :bday: :joy: :bgift:
This makes me think... When I write to my clueless friends near December to ask them to watch FarScape? THIS would be the PERFECT! way to ask them!
DRD2001

It would also be helpful if there was a brief paragraph on who the picture was, for those who don't see Farscape. Kind of like the artist or studio info you see on the back of cards.

Sure DRD2001!
I can tap it out for you!

I have an account with webshots.com and the pics that I have can be used as screensavers and ecards.
It's free or you can pay. Free means you can set up an album but you need to visit it regularly or it will go inactive and be eliminated. Also, it means that you can only download a certain number of pics for screensavers per day.
Pay means that you have unlimited space for albums. You don't have to check it to keep it alive. They will tell you before your subscription is up so you can renew. You can download as many pics per day as you have time for looking up. And they have millions of pics!
check out my albums:
go to: www.webshots.com
click on: community tab
enter: cybergal67 in the find member box
This will take you to a link to my public albums. Check it out and see what you think. Pick a picture and send yourself an ecard as a test. There are 2 pages of albums with some Farscape albums on both pages. Ratscape's posters, screencaps and assorted pics that I have scavenged around the boards that were put together by fans.
If you don't want to mess with it, you can send me your .jpg or .gif (those load the fastest) and I will make another album for them. Go take a look 1st then we'll talk.

cybergal :)
Great shots! Nice site.
There is space to put "FarScape: Award winning Scifi!" and dates & times of the show :) I was typing for about a minute and it was still taking it. Not that I would try to fill it... just curious :lol
Are these printable? can you tack pics in the font field? Avitars?

I haven't really pushed it that far. I've used the program for years but never attempted a novella in the text of the postcard. I know it takes a lot of info in the comments part of the pic when you edit it. So maybe it takes a ton of info there also. Don't really know. It's free to use so try it and see what happens. All it would do is stop you if if didn't allow it.:bravo:
As far as pitting pics within the post..... I haven't tried that one either. Looks like another test to me!
Let me know your results. You have a couple of interesting ideas there, which have started the wheels turning....... :rollin:
It's amazing what you can do with a few pics and a scanner these days isn't it?
If any of you start an album on webshots, let me know. I'd like to see what you come up with. And if you do start one, my advice is download the My Photos Assistant, it's free, and with it you can upload multiple pics instead of just one at a time. Also, it allows for resizing and cropping of your pics.
Just remember the smaller the pic you use, the more distorted it will become on the ecard. The best size to use is your standard 4" photo if you're scanning. I don't have a digital camera -yet- but friends that use them on webshots say they work great.
Let me know how this works out for you. I'd like to see what you come up with! It's a whole new way to spread the word or keep the up the spirits of hardworking Scapers. Nothing like getting a great pic and some words of encouragement or a special Happy Birthday from "John, Aeryn or the whole crew, even Crais" :grr:

Cybergal!
You are a fountain of ideas! Whereas it may not be possible to get an ecard to each scaper I know... I have an idear how to do the same job.
THANK YOU!
For my purposes I want a large scary pic of Natira! Anyone who could make love to Scorpius has to be scary! :lol
We could still send out a shippy card saying something like "I'm frightened--Hold me tight!" or "When I kiss you I'm not afraid" ain't riffin great!
Did you know that you can rent cameras? Not too expensive either. Maybe $40 deposit and $25/day to rent. You can do a whole world of pics in one afternoon :D Specify an easy one... as tempting as it may be to take out a $1000 35 mil :lol I bought my little digital at a local Fred Meyers for $35. It does the job just fine. Unfortunately my 'model' moved to tenn :(
Pictures within the post is easy peasy!!!!
Follow these instructions:
right click on any picture you see on the internet
click on 'save as' and save the pic as a gif, bmp or jpg
upload & save the pic to a site... like the card site
post the pic there then right click on it again
click on properties
copy the 'properties' it will be a line ending in gif, jpg or bmp
save that line to a safe place
Click to open a post window
once the window opens click on the button at the top ===> that says 'IMG' a box will open at the top
paste that line into that box & click ok
your line will appear within a code
if you are curious how to get the pic up on other sites copy the line within the code :)
Other sites use the same code 'IMG' or the entire word 'image' ... that is the only diff :rainbow:
This bboard also has a 'Attach File' at the bottom of the post window to upload any valid file straight from your harddrive.
.. And as much as i'd like to spend time experimenting :goof: I am outta time!!! time to scrape my wherewithall together and do it! :) I suggest y'all do the same! :flee:
I will still create! I will check back & post a link to my creation... BuWahahahaha! :ewink:

I started a new album titled Farscape Babes -
It only has 5 pics in it right now, but there may be a couple in there that you might like..... :love2:
Can't wait to see what you come up with. I want to experiment with some of this stuff but I'm in the middle of decorating for a huge Halloween party at my place Saturday night. No time left to be creative. Once I get past this shindig, I'll be dangerous. :wb: Well, after I take a really long nap!!!
If you are looking for any pic in particular, let me know. I'll see what I can come up with for you.

Have a Hezmana Halloween! (http://pub120.ezboard.com/ffarscapediscussionunchartedterritories.showMessag e?topicID=3104.topic)
The one I posted here doesn't have the same impact. My msn property codes aren't compatable with this site :scramble: MSN claims they're making changes. :jedi: We'll see. :grr:

Go here:

That will take you directly to the album. I hope there's a pic you can use there.
I like the Scorpy pic. You just need to add something wicked to say and it would be complete. Maybe an e-vil Vincent Price quote or something like that......
Big Halloween Party tonight.
I'm in the Freak Out time zone now!

Did you put the margarita in his hand?
Here's how my warped brain works, here is what I would have put under your pic....
A toast to Evil Suits everywhere! ...and everyone calls ME the bad guy!
Watch Farscape January 10 @ 8pm EST on Sci-Fi Channel
or
Got leather? A bad attitude? A toast to Farscape - it has something for everyone!
Watch Farscape January 10 @ 8pm EST on Sci-Fi Channel
I think the time is right, but not 100% sure.
Must go to sleep. The brain will work better after recharging. The Halloween party last night was a rockin' success. They came:flee: , they danced:moon: , they drank  and they drank  some more and then they started doing shots. :spew:
Everyone made it home o.k. afterwards. :vroom: I'm just glad I was already here. That's the one advantage to throwing the party, you're already home!! :rollin:
Real world work looms tomorrow. Yuk! Gotta catch a few quality zzzzzzzzz's before then. :snore:
