We (2 females, both non-smoker) are looking for a room at the Brooklyn Marriott for the NYC Convention in November. The rooms are all gone by now so if you have a spare room you don't need anymore or if you wanna share to lower costs, please PM me !!! We would be ever so thankful !
BTW. We need a room from November 29-December 1,2002

I have a room you could probably use. I reserved it a while ago, for that Friday to Sunday. I'll check tomorrow if it's still reserved under my name -- I don't see why it wouldn't be, but if they are really all booked, I think I should really check and make sure :)
I am also a non-smoking female, and I've been looking for roommates :)
I found one other girl who might want to share the room, as well, but she said she wasn't sure if she could get enough money to come, and then my e-mail account died, and now I can't find her address to find out if she is still going or not :( . She said she wouldn't mind sharing the room with more people, though, so it shouldn't be a problem, either way...
So, as long as you don't mind sharing the room with one, or even possibly two people (and therefore possibly sleeping on the floor), you can stay with us.
Email me at katyaz@attbi.com, or even better, PM me if you are interested :)
Katya.
Edited to add: I just checked, and "that friday to sunday" means that I did reserve it from Nov 29 to Dec 1 (I had to check the dates, to make sure of that ;) ), so that should work for you, right?

Jen: Are you sure so many people are going to fit in your room? how large do you think the room is?
Do you know if we have to ask permission from the hotel before letting 4 people sleep in a room that is supposedly for 2 people?
(I know it's a little late to be asking this, seeing as I toohave found at least two (maybe three) roommates for my room already, but I am still somewhat worried about this...

I just called the Brooklyn Marriott about it and they said that you can have up to 4 people in each room. No More and NO less. So, I will only need one more person for the room.

Wait, what do you mean, "NO less"?! You can't have *less* than 4 people in a room? That seems a little strange to me...
Don't worry.
I have been to other cons also staying at a Marriott and at times there would be 5 or 6 people staying in one room. They don't do guest-counts as far as I know.
And you can certainly have less than 4 people in the room. You can book a double room or a suite/apartment all for yourself. As long as you pay the rate no one is gonna complain about that, I am sure ;)
PM is on it's way to you Katya :)

It's NYC they are not going to check.
I work around the area and they are not going to stop you from having guests, as long as you don't bring attention to your room.
So that means no firing of pulse pistols at 4 in the morning.
It is going to be a good time...enjoy! :aok:

I was at a fan-run X-Files con in NYC two years ago (before the face of the city changed forever, sigh) and we squeezed 5 people into my room and we didn't get flack from the hotel staff (although they were some of the *rudest* people we ever met!! I guess they thought they had to fulfill the "rude NYers" quota since everyone else we met was so nice!)
