Is....

Ranking for this round goes like this: (1st to 8th)

Katyaz 18
Shipscat 14
DenAstrogeek 10
Kernezelda 7
Xenajules2 (tied) 5
Revolos55 (tied) 5
Elishavah 2
BBQ 1

(And as a side note, what the heck was I thinking when I volunteered for this? No one the BBQ was so eager.)

This was an interesting game to say the least. I had to go back through the thread a few times in order to keep track of the chain. Although many of you posted and answered many questions, I only counted points for the original chain.

I decided the tag/writing question was okay since Aeryn showed it to John and asked him to read it.

If you have any questions or problems, feel free to drop me a line. I'll post the next episode on Friday and the next question on Saturday.

This game will officially end when the new eps begin. I'll keep a running total until then.

Yes!!! Yes!!! I won the first round :D :D I doubt I'll stay in the lead for long, what with some of the *amazing* players that participated (pretty much the only reason I won was because I had to use the computer to study last weekend, so I was able to check back for questions more often than other people were...), but I'm enjoying it while it lasts :)

Thanks for tallying up the votes for us, Sunshiner. I guess you see now why I said I don't envy you the task ;)

I am not really sure what you mean about having more than one chain, though... So if a person is not the first one to answer a question correctly his/her question doesn't count? I thought the rules said to always try to answer the last unanswered question... I don't remember seeing anything about questions from people with wrong answers/not the first right answer being invalid...

Also, what about the question about the actor who played Bitaal? I wasn't sure about that one -- are questions like that (about actors who were in the episode chosen, but also involving other episodes) allowed?

Well, the way I understood the game, it followed along with the first person to answer the question correctly. So, if two people answered the same question, whoever did it first got to ask the next question and it went from there. I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. So, I will stand to be corrected. (BBQ? You out there?)

As for the question on the actor or writer of XXX episode, I think that's fair since there is plenty of links to find that information and lots of people already know who does what by heart. And, it does involve the episode in question.

Thanks for doing the work, sunshiner!

If you still have it, would you be willing to post who got points for what? With a new trivia task-mstr, it would help for us to figure out what will get credit in the future and what won't.

Here's a link to an example of the BBQ's work:
http://bboard.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/2323/52616/147?

In the past, any valid (that is, not deserving of deletion) question that got asked could be answered for a point. It didn't matter who asked it (provided, of course, the asker didn't answer it) or when. The first best/correct answer to the question got the point. Questions that didn't get answered right away, or never got answered correctly were termed "Questions in the Wind" (QITW). Anyone (other than the asker) could go clean up QITWs, and (when all eps were fair game) QITWs sometimes carried over from one round to the next.

It's fine if you want to work it differently -- we appreciate you doing the work in any case -- but just let us know.

Thanks again!

[edited to add:] Here's another BBQ example. In this one she included "Misses" as well as correct answers in the summary.

And I forgot to add: Congrats, katyaz!!!! That was a nicely played round and even more impressive for a newbie!

Thanks, DenAstrogeek :)

I looked at the posts you mentioned, with the questions from the previous rounds of Chainmale Trivia, and *wow*, those questions are *hard*. Made me realize just how lucky I was to be starting with just one episode ;) I'd have been lost with most of those questions! (It takes me at least a little while to figure out the episode abbreviations, let alone answer the actual question).

And hey, Sunshiner, if you decide after reading Den's message that you want to recount using all the questions, and it turns out that I didn't win after all, that will be fine as well.

(I really, really don't want to make you do more work, because I think you have already gone way above and beyond the call of duty, and I am *really* grateful to you for organizing this game and letting us play here, but I do sort of think it makes more sense for all the questions to be counted... I am not sure if it's fair to make contentants try to judge on the spur of the moment whether an answer is right or not, especially if an answer is sort of controversial. I mean, obviously, the contestants are going to try and judge whether an answer is right, or if they can grab questions that are still "in the wind", but here, if they judge wrong, and they start following the wrong thread, then they would potentially lose a lot of points that way... But that's just my opinion -- I'll be glad to play it, either way :) )

Oh, and DenAstrogeek -- I got your PM. Sorry I haven't replied yet :( RL has been really hard, lately, and I've also been sort of sick the last couple of days. I'll reply tonight :)

Hey y'all,

I agree all points should be counted. On round two, anyone who answers a question correctly, and then posts a question, will get a point.

Unfortunately, I don't have the scoring from the last game cause I just sort of counted it on scratch paper. And, if it's all the same, I'd rather not go back and recount round one. Call it a warm up game and we'll just let the points stand as they are. :)

That sounds good, sunshiner. :)

I agree that you shouldn't have to go back and redo this round. I shouldn't have even suggested it... I'm sorry.

Thank you for doing such a great job with the game, so far. :)

Katya.
