I went to 2 events on saturday and I saw or found no Farscape fans! No one I saw was wearing a shirt, a hat or passing out flyers! Maybe I just missed them but it seems to me that there are not that many MI fans that think the show can be saved. I was wearing my farscape t-shirt and around my neck I made a necklace with a picture of Aeryn and John (cards) and not one person got it that it was from "Out of their minds"!!! I thought it was very creative and wished I had thought of it earlier. I could have made many (I have alot of those cards from the season 2 contest to win all the costume cards) but no one really commented that I was making a statement that I love farscape and I want it back! I am still shocked that I saw no one wearing even a farscape hat or t-shirt! plus hardly anyone posts on this MI site! I went to the Ford community auditorium and the comic con in Novi and I bought a lot of farscape stuff but saw no other strong supporters of the show. I was truly disappointed.
Sincerely,

I would bet there were more FS fans there than you think, but perhaps not the type to come up to you and start talking.
Just an idea, but many FS fans, while angered that it's been cancelled, may not know that anything is being done about it. Also, remember that there are only about 1.5-2.0 million FS fans in the country. Many sci-fi fans have not tried the show because they think it's about muppets, or maybe they happened to tune in the first time to one of the wackier episodes (or Jeremiah Crichton) and so never tried it again. The rest of the TV viewing population has never heard of it!
So, just a suggestion, but perhaps the next time you go to an event, don't depend on people "getting" your costume--all but a few of them will never have seen Out of Their Minds. Instead, I would politely hand out simple flyers designed *either* to get new people to watch 12/24 and in January (use at non-sci fi events) or to let current fans know that there is a campaign underway and that they can help (use at sci fi-specific events).
I think flyers are a much more direct (and therefore efficient) way to 1) get the information out and 2) get people talking.
Like I said, though, just a suggestion.

I put together a simple .pdf flyer that everyone is welcome to print out and use. It gives a brief background of the show and the campaign and tells people to watch and rent Farscape and to come to this web site for more information.
You can download it at:

I have taken the information about the Chain Reaction off until we get some confirmation that it will actually take place. Once it goes on the schedule, I can put that back in.

I was thinking about that very same flyer (it's excellent IMHO), but couldn't remember which thread it was in and was too lazy to go hunting. ;)
I love it because it is simple and understated, yet makes all the points very nicely -- while *we* appreciate the enthusiasm and hard-core fandom we share here on this board, the other 98% of FS viewers (current and potential) out there are more likely to be turned off by too much overt "fannish-ness" than impressed.
(as always, just my subjective opinion :aok: )

I am not the type of person to go up to people and start talking about Farscape either, but if I saw anyone with a shirt or flyer I definitely would. I know that there were FS fans there because they bought items at the auction but how devoted were they? When I found out that the show was cancelled and not going to get an ending I was very upset. I still have not done much to save the show but I was hoping to meet other fans and maybe have someone to work with. I was sure that there would be other fans that were more outgoing than me and really campaigning but seeing no one discouraged me to the point that now it seems that there are not enough hard core fans who see the show as better and as monumental as star trek was all those years ago. I saw a lot of people and not one was wearing a shirt or anything! Oh well. I am excited about buying the first season on DVD! I started watching the extras first. I loved Farscape but it really looks as if it has gone without an ending!!!

disillusioned,
