Hello! I'm feldman, and I'm organizing the Watch Farscape National Radio Promotion Campaign a.k.a. The Guerrilla Radio Network.

*Guerrilla Radio is a national radio campaign planned for January 6-10, with the goal of increasing the visibility and viewership of Farscape in the week leading up to the Jan 10 premiere of new episodes.

*Our goal is to run radio promotions in the top 30 Nielsen markets, reaching 53.5% of US TV watchers.

*Promotions will run during the morning and evening drive-times, when we'll reach the largest audiences.

*Promotions will consist of prize-pack give-aways and professionally produced radio commercials. The more prizes we can secure, the more markets we can target.

The Guerrilla Radio Team is currently approaching Farscape merchandise companies for prize donations, in return for on-air credit and a link on the Save Farscape sponsor page. We can give low-cost advertising to these excellent companies and promote them to fans as sponsors of our Save Farscape campaign. Everybody wins :aok:

The Guerrilla Radio Team will be posting in the coming days with more informartion on the promotions, and concrete ways you can help us to make them a rousing success.

Very exciting!

Most (99.9%) of my radio listening is Public and alternative radio (NPR and the College stations). Is is possible to support some Public radio? They might even give some free air time in the way of interviews, etc. There is a new program that is starting called Media Works (or something like that with Media in the title).

While these stations don't reach as wide an audience as the commercial stations, it is possible that we would be getting to an audience that is more prone to watching Farscape, especially the college crowd.

Just a thought.

That's a great suggestion, Unohoo. I wake up to NPR every morning and would love to be able to expand into that venue.

Unfortunately, we're working within a limited budget and we'll be able to set up these promotions on commercial radio for just the cost of the prizes packs and shipping (and some of us are working hard to get as much of these things as possible for free and at discount :aok: ).

National Public Radio stations might be better accessed through the Press Kit and through local human interest stories. And anytime someone sets up a local Farscape event near a college, contacting the college radio station is an excellent idea!

Future updates will list those 30 Nielsen market cities and stations, I hope? If I can't hear the promotion in the K.C. area, I'd like to give anyone I know a heads up about the promotion in their areas.
