I recall a few years ago a week before the first season's final four episodes the Chicago Tribune TV Week did a front page cover/article on Farscape being a good show (it also had a cool picture of Scorpious). I figure maybe we can get them to do another cover/article to promote the new episodes in January again. so here is their address.

TV Editor
Chicago Tribune
435 N. Michigan Ave
Chicago, IL 60611-4041
Or e-mail at tvweek@tribune.com

also, last year the Arts and Entertainment section did a small article noting the beginning of the third season (not much more than that info).

Scott L. Powers
Entertainment Editor
Chicago Tribune
435 N. Michigan Ave
Chicago, IL 60611
Or e-mail at ctc-arts@tribune.com
Call: 312-222-5875
Fax: 312-222-4479

I figure we can write to either of these to get them to write on farscape and pitch the angle of it being a great show being cancelled or even the angle of how CNNHLN approached it in terms of how this is a "grassroots movement" conducted mostly over the internet and how we have succeeded in getting media attention (and apparently even some sponsors to notice us like KFC). If we succeed, this could be good exposure.

i would recommend that primarily Illinois residents or CT subscribers petition them, because i think papers care mostly for their readers. But then again you could also send an e-mail/fax/letter it wouldn't hurt, or you could write to other major newspapers to get them to do articles on Farscape voluntarily (which could sway the opinions of readers who take recommendations from newspapers).
Anyone have the Chicago SunTimes listing? i will have to look that one up. We can also use this thread to put a listing of all major papers in the US.

spread this info to other sites to get the maximum exposure, thanks.

I've posted a copy of this to the ChicagoScapers' group, and we are gonna be all over this one.

Remember, this newspaper is available all over the midwest in a regional edition, so you don't have to be a local reader to write them a letter.

Durka, you are a man of ideas. How about joining the ChicagoScapers group:

or send an e-mail to me: saccodent@yahoo.com

This is a great start, Durka35. Would you or grapeshot be interested in gathering up more contact info for Chicago? We could use print, tv, and radio outlets and would like to have the specific names for the entertainment/TV reporters or editors as well as the feature writers, technology editors, and business reporters (specifically the ones who might write about advertising trends). If you can and are interested, please either contact me or Twich at advertising@watchfarscape.com.

Thanks!!!

Thanks for this, Durka35! It turns out the Chicago Trib has actually written quite a few positive articles about Farscape and other doings at the Sci-Fi Channel...and they also ran an article on the cancellation and fan reaction way back on September 10th.

And the Chicago Sun-Times television critic Phil Rosenthal has also praised Farscape in his column.

As scapeartist will confirm, we're putting together a big list of media contacts, and I'm pleased to have both of these outlets covered in my metaphorical Rolodex...

Quotes from these publications could also be used in print ads
or flyers in addition to the TV Guide praise.:aok:
