And the FWA got to do it first!

The money orders are now on their way to the various cable providers for the Do It Yourself Media commercial suggested by kimrb and produced by Beowulf and DaMENACE.

The total came to $834.80 of the $1000 budget approved for the project. This is not the final cost; the commercial has yet to be shipped to the various destinations.

The normal process will be to list expenditures associated with a project when it is completed, but since this is the very first time we've actually used the approval process and written live checks against the donations, I wanted to share it with you.

Thank you again for your generosity and faith in the management of the fund. Now we are starting to use the monies you've so openly given to publicize the campaign and recruit new viewers. Working together will bring us that much needed 2.0 and more.

Just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has donated to the fund and made the Do It Yourself Media Project a reality. And to thank Deneba and the gang for their support and upfront manner in dealing with the funds. I know I'm very excited about the possiblities the project holds for reaching many, many new viewers and the occasional broadcast exec. This should be one hell of a ride!:aok:

Isn't it awesome to see what this fan-based, grassroots movement has accomplished so far?:spin:

Deneba, can you give us more details on what the money was spent on?

What markets will the commercials air on?

How much did each market cost, and so on?

Cincygal, check out the "Do It Yourself Media" thread. DaMenace recently posted the list of 24 cities in which air time is being purchased. All but 7-10 of which are being paid for by the FWA. The 7-10 others were financed by individual contributors. DaMenace may also be able to provide you with a spreadsheet listing the costs of each city.
