Just thought I'd use my first post to complain.
No, really, I had a different first post already in mind, but this one jumped out at me. I lack permission to view the link in this post, so in the immortal words of someone mortal, "what's up with that?"

Sorry bout that, I believe the link is to an old forum that in the meanwhile was closed down.
The Viewer Consortium now has their own website, I'll post a link here once I find the right address :D

News Update

The Viewer Consortium's Programming Department recently sent a proposal to The Jim Henson Company outlining ways for the two organizations to work together and pursue options for a 5th season of the Henson television show, Farscape.
Shortly after the proposal was sent, Brian Henson of Henson Co. (and Farscape Executive Producer) spoke by phone with TVC's Managing Director, Matt Sampsell.
Henson thanked TVC for its work to date in support of the show and its viewers, while Sampsell congratulated Henson and his family, who are currently in the final stages of re-acquiring ownership of The Jim Henson Company from EM.TV.
While stressing that things are only in very early discussion stages, Sampsell reports, "We are very grateful that The Jim Henson Company is considering our interest in the show. They have a long history with PBS and we feel what TVC is attempting [with Farscape] is in a similar area, in that we want to add a public involvement to the mix."
The document sent by TVC was a provisional grant offer "for financial support [to Henson Co.] in the range of $1-10 million". The offer also covered general public awareness, advertising support, and cooperation in finding adequate distribution.
Some of the approaches TVC has developed to strengthen Farscape's distribution include grant offers to companies who may make advertising commitments and networks who may license and distribute the show. Of course, any distribution prospects are conditional on The Jim Henson Company's decision about the show's production.
Other projects in the works for TVC include a periodical focusing on Viewer/TV Industry interaction, two new ratings systems, and alternative television distribution methods.

That's fantastic Bandana Girl!! THANKS so much for helping us.
We love having international support ! We are looking for graphic artists now to produce a brochure and newer flyers.
Feel free to post any of the above everywhere you go.
The more viewers that are aware of an alternative to commercial-only supported TV, the better we will become.

I think this is the best way by far of getting Farscape back, Hats of to you guys.
If everyone would put just the cost of one boxset down I bet there would be a nice pot to top up a bid from someone like Sci-fi

Ummm.... Is this still going on? If it is, couldn't we use the money to just buy like a big percent of the company in controll? If I'm talking out of my ass . sorry.
No, it's not still going on...

Kinda wondering if the money was returned because the fund site says it still has money...
they never actually collected money - they took pledges from people, and if the fans paying for the show ever came to happen, they were going to come back and ask for the funds..
