Ladies and Gentleman!

So today we've seen (or some will see) the last new Farscape epy for a while... Yeah, I know, it sucks. But this ain't over by a long shot!

Back in at the beginning of the campaign I was desperate to do something, but didn't quite know what. Until cleverfox asked for peole to send in video-footage from the Fifth of Farscape rallies. So I whipped out my camcorder and took it to the ralley in LA and it turned out to be a riot. Back then we first started talking about "Saving Farscape: The Movie", a documentary to talk about what happened during the campaign, how people felt, what people did. Something that at the same time should create some video-footage we might be able to interest news-rooms in broadcasting. And that's how we decided to conduct cast and crew interviews at the Burbank Convention in November last year, using professional equipment. When I started to push for it I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into and in all honesty, I'm not sure I'd do it again... well, I probably would, but I'm certifiably insane and this just proves it :D
It was a lot of hard work by a lot of people and I would like to thank them here!
Maayan and Makiko were both absolutely essential, without them none of this would have happened and as a little thank you we besieged their hotel room at the Con day and night and didn't give them a moments rest :D :D :D All hail Maayan and Makiko! Love ya girls :)
Alison and our Editor were then ones who took care of the DP part, setting up the lighting, making sure everybody and the shoot looked fabulous. And our Editor has then created magic by editing the raw footage together the way he did. You'll see what I mean when you watch the clip. He's simply the best and I can't thank him enough :) We were so incredibly lucky to have him on board!
gurnemanz has worked wonders in getting the scoring done (after sadly Mr. Gross couldn't do it due to his workload! But I'm sure glad he's busy and working :)) and getting a friend of his on board who provided us with original music to use for scoring (to check out Carl Weingarten and his music visit this site: Multiphase Records, www.mphase.com)
Of course a HUGE Thank You to Raelee Hill, Ricky Manning, Wayne Pygram and Lani Tupu for answering our question and being such fantastic people :) :bounce: And Thanks also to Claudia Black, Giggi Edgly and Anthony Simcoe, who all agreed to the interviews but then were whisked away by the Creation security people before we could actually go through with the interview!
The same goes to cofax, Deneba and fialka who all agreed to an interview and of course got only quoted with the juicy bits they said :D :D :D And of course also for your relentless work through SaveFarscape.com. This also includes Jul and Red and Waltersgirl, who helped us to set everything up, let alone allowed us to plan things through this wonderful board!

And now to the many angels who have agreed to put the video up on their site for people to download! Akimbo and AyuRocks and Chryse and Una and I might add some later. All hail them for their sacrifice of bandwidth to allow everybody to watch this 17MB monster :D

Hell, I'm sure I forgot people! Spank me with a wet noodle if I did! Or better email me so I can add you :)

If any of you had any doubts about whether or not the cast and writers of Farscape want to finish the show, if you had any doubts that they hurt even worse than we do, you'll stop wondering once you've seen the vid. They want to finish the story as badly as we want to see the end, no, actually more so!

So without any further ado (she says after a two page post!) here are the links:
Please note that you might have to update your quicktime with the very latest version in order to get sound AND picture :D A number of tests have shown that people had trouble, but it always worked out after downloading the latest update for quicktime :)
And please, just download the link to your computer and watch it there as many times as you want :) The entire clip is around 5 minutes and if people watch repeatedly through the webpages it'll eat up bandwidth unnecessarily.

In Europe: check out www.farscape-one.de
choose English in the left-hand corner under the picture to enter the site. There is a link on the on the main-page from where you can download :)

Eeeek! The first site has reached its download limit already so I had to take it off! But here's another site:
http://shriftweb.org/sf
(ALL HAIL Shrift!! :D :D :D)

A direct link (just right-click and choose "Save link desitination as..."):
http://homepage.mac.com/chryse/SaveFS/resources/TeaserComp.mov
but you can also reacht the link through Chryse's main-page :)

Enjoy! Rejoyce! And remember: This ain't over by a long shot. We ARE getting our show back, we'll just have to hang in there and keep going :)

Love and Peace and Hope, Always!

Tiriel:
Thanks so much for the incredible video. I found it to be very uplifting, "revive and rejuvenate". I, with your permission, am going to see if I can get this on my friend's server to help promote it.

This video serves as a great inspiration for doing a Scaper documentary. Perhaps this video you wonderful people have created can be used as a vehicle for getting grants? Or maybe to send copies to some independent filmmakers in an effort to get some assistance. I know producers see little snippets like these all the time, and with enough persistence, we're bound to find someone who is interested.

I worked for 2 years at the movie studios in Wilmington, NC. I acted in the feature film "The Road to Wellville" and an episode of "The Twilight Zone". I worked behind the scenes in several episodes of "American Gothic", "Matlock" and "Sleeping with the Enemy". Not amazing credintials, but I've "met a few people". I dont want to sound like a starfreller, I know no one really big. Yet I'm sure I can get us a sense of direction.
Long Live Moya!

Me gonna download as soon as me gets a spare minute from uni work. But hey - well done Tiriel and crew - you continue to amaze us with your insane and psychotic ideas, and we wouldn't have you any other way!

Thanks quendi! I'll pass your sentiments on to those crew-members who rarely go online!!

And I think it's a great idea to see if we can pool our resources and abilities. I know there are plenty of "Industry" Scapers and maybe we can get together to see if we can pull a larger-scale documentary off.

I'll see what I can do, maybe we can set up a place where we can work together, despite the large physical distances!

And if you can get the vid up for download somewhere, let me know, so I can include the link here :)

And Hell! Am I happy this place is back!!! I almost died of the withdrawel!!!

Love and Peace and Great PR :)

Tiriel,

What codec did you use to compress this video? I installed Quicktime 6 but am getting error messages complaining that the compression utility required for the clip can't be found.

If you could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. :aok:

Cheers!

Heya EPIT,

try downloading the very latest update from their web-site. I know other people got the same error, but updating helped :)
(Uhm, although Chryse had to update, like four different modules before it finally worked :D You gotta hate computers sometimes, but you still can't live without them :D)

Hope this helps :)

quendi: LOL! Yeah, my last quick FMD-bb fix before I'm off the computer for today! But that reminds me... I should sort out that pm-box, before I get another overflow error! :goof:

Love and Peace and Working Software :)

working on hosting for a 10-meg Windows Media 9 version to make it a little easier on those without big fat pipelines :)

Got it hosted, dunno how long it'll last there, but here's the URL:

http://home.earthlink.net/~hezmana/TeaserComp-1.wmv

Requires Windows Media Player 9, but it'll shave 8 megs off your download.

hope it helps (fabulous work on the vid)

Aya-who? :P

Yeah... I know who she is... truth be told, though, I'd rather go see a Princess Aeryn concert :aok: -- the girl's probably had more cosmetic surgery than Michael Jackson.

She's cute but they (the Japanese) hammer that image way too much. It's akin to some songs they play to death on the radio.

Have you seen her latest "Twins" jacket (album). Yotz!

Anyway, feel free to PM me regarding any other Japanese-related topics.

ahhh! I LOVE the A Ballads cover, it is so beautiful, I think. I own almost all of her CDs, but I'm broke so I couldn't get A Ballads.
