I've heard it said many times on Scifi's board that there are viewers who will completely tune out Scifi, and I have voiced on several occassions that we must continue to watch Farscape, simply to show our support of the wonderful cast and crew. The other hope I have in watching the reruns is this, if we watch and tell others to do the same, the fan base will remain large and loyal, and the ratings may remain high. So please show your support and tune in to Farscape, it can only help.

I second that motion.

I'm going to watch every single rerun!

Well, okay, I have this big project at work and I have been trying to go to bed early, so I will probably not watch the reruns I already own on DVD, but my TiVo will record them anyway just in case anybody at TiVo is telling anybody at Nielsen anything about us (we authorized them to use our recording/viewing schedule in future "demographic and viewer-habit" projects).

But I have to watch the reruns for Season 3, because I was on vacation when they stripped Season 3 before Season 4 started, and I've never seen most of it.

Two words really sum up this campaign right now -

Watch Farcape.

Anywhere you can. DVD sales, rerun viewing numbers, all of it matters for validating the worth of this franchise in the future.

I was deeply saddened at the supposed series finale.

How could they leave us hanging. I hope the campaign succeeds to bring it back to conclude the story.:(

Welcome Megan.

The campaign will succeed! Think positive, wait for the wheel, we have hope or nothing, etc. etc. etc.

Jump in, the water's fine. :aok:

Whew. I'm a little cliched out.

Welcome Megan!! Hang in there. We will get our show back. Have faith & join the battle. I will be recording the reruns starting with season 2. I have all of season 1 on DVD.

Join us at Kansas in watching 1 episode a week and discussing them until we get a season 5.
:aok:

I plan to tape every re-run through season 4. I actually have not seen almost any of season 1 and the beginning of season 2 ;) So welcome to Megan and all other new members! I hope that the site being down for 2 days didn't disuade you from joining us!

Will be taping every single rerun - to have a lending copy of the tapes to hook new Scapers! I'd suggest that if you have the resources to do this you look at making a lending library as well!

Personally, I'm planning on recording them so they can be lent out, and I'm also planning on acquiring the DVD box sets for my own enjoyment.

(no more cliche's please - they're getting deep!)

One thing a co-worker suggested: if you have a TiVo, "thumbs-down" everything on Sci-Fi except Farscape (and SG1 if you're so inclined.) TiVo sends aggregate data to the networks with that information. If the networks care is another story... but TiVo's newsletter might catch on. The newsletter editor is a huge Buffy fan and makes Buffy comments now and then, we might have an in.

Farscape has been featured in TiVo's weekly newsletter and as a suggestion in Tivolution Magazine (electronic programming guide) in the past.

Perhaps those of us who own TiVos should send a note to TiVo asking them to mention that SciFi is stripping all the episodes starting on 3/31. They can create shortcuts in the recommended programs listings to automatically set up a season pass...

I would disagree about thumbs-downing everything on the Sci Fi channel, unless you happen to dislike science fiction other than Farscape. You will seriously frell up their aggregate data, their recommendation system, and your own recommendations if you do it just to spite SciFi.

anyone have the rerun schedule for the next month? I have trouble with Skiffy's site- seems to crash on me regularly...

Starting March 31, Monday through Thursday, 12 AM. Stripped Season 1 onwards.

Starting April 4, Friday, 5 AM. Stripped Season 4.

This is all, of course, subject to change, knowing how much Skiffy likes to frell with us.

I'm at least thumbs-downing John Edwards, Scare Tactics, and the Dream Team. =) I'm even thumbs-upping Lexx, and I didn't really like it. Gotta support other originals.

I think that's Saturday 5am Kerlin, but not sure. And be aware these are EST times. If you're CST, make the correction. 11pm and 4am.

Question, what do I do to allow myself to be counted by Tivo? Is that on the registration I haven't done yet? Or something else I'm supposed to do?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the first week of the reruns is M-Th at 11pm central time. Then starting with the second week onward it is Sun-Th at 11pm central time. That's what I gathered from the TV Guide website and www.scifi.com/Farscape.

I hope that's right because I just ordered bumper stickers with Sunday-Thursday on them.

It is Sunday thru Thursday KozmikBloo. Your bumper stickers should be fine. Got any to spare? I'm central too. I don't recall what day of the week it starts, but it is March 31st. Guess that is a Monday.

LadyCrais, you don't have to do anything to have your selections counted as aggregate data (not identifiable with your demographics). We signed up to have our demographic information included when we were invited to do so a long time ago. (We've had our TiVo since early 2000.)

If you don't want your selections counted, even anonymously, you have to call them at the number in their privacy statement (www.tivo.com/privacy). I know that's not what you were asking, LC, but I figured if I said you were automatically counted, someone would want to know how to get un-counted. :)

For those of you changing your TiVo settings just to frell with SciFi, I want to reiterate - you will mess up their aggregate data about shared likes and dislikes, and you will mess up your own recommendations, if you stray too far from your true preferences. The system works well when people are honest.

I thought reruns started tonight! I stocked up on tapes, took all the tapes out of their plastic wrappers and put on the stickers. Wrote FARSCAPE on the little stickers so I wouldn't use them for something else. I rewired my satellite/tv/dvd/vcr/home theater so that I could tape correctly. Sat back with my finger poised on the record button and much to my chagrin Star Trek appeared.

Darn it all, NOW what will I watch on Friday? I started watching Farscape at the beginning of this season so I'm dying to see the beginning.

I had to pull up a whole day of scifi to figure it out, but they actually show the 5am episodes early Saturday. Here's an example:

scifi.com/schedulebot/index.php3?date=4-APR-2003&feed_req=

I didn't want someone to find out too late that they didn't get it recorded. .. :-/

ClareBarton: The time the Season 4 reruns are on are still in dispute. On tvguide.com, they show it on Friday. On scifi.com, it shows up for Saturday. In any case tape both days the first week to see which is right.

Thanks LadyCrais. I was hoping my stickers would be ok.

I made my stickers at www.makestickers.com. I suppose I could have printed them out myself but by the time I got the paper and everything, well it was just easier this way. They were pretty quick on the delivery...I ordered them on Sunday night and got them today using the free delivery method.

Here's a pic :)

Word in from the *Roswell* boards is that Sci-Fi, currently "stripping" (re-airing daily) the last half of the *Roswell* eppies, is happy with the ratings they're getting, and open to re-airing them all over again after they finish the "series-finale".

Maybe Sci-Fi has similar plans for *Farscape* re-runs as well:

Excerpts:
---
I talked to a lady at Sci Fi yesterday about this very subject. I had seen questions about this so many times that i thought i would try to get some kind of answer. She told me that after all three seasons run, it depends on the ratings what will happen. The show could be on at a diff time, it may just start over as Thicket said, or---if the ratings aren't good enough--- it may be put on a temp hiatus and then brought back again. They have it for quite a while (is it 5 yrs, i forget?) so we can rest assured it will be on there, but it depends on us, quite a bit, when. If you don't like the time it airs, my suggestion is to email them, write them, call them and let them know. But most importantly, keep watching! We've had enough hiatuses to last two life times !

---
It might be that Roswell fans don't tape episodes as often as Farscape fans do (are the Roswell DVD's out yet?), hence more reliant on Sci Fi for they're daily "fix":) - healthier ratings.
