Hi everyone!

I stopped posting here a while ago after someone was coming on to the site and pretending to be me but I couldn't resisit delurking and saying hi to everyone.

Thank you all so much for everything - kind words, support etc. It means a great deal to me. I've made some great friends along the way with Farscape and I am a changed man for being in touch with my co-wokers and the fans - very humbling.

As far as Farscape goes it is a treasured memory in the past now - I've moved on to other shows, as have most of the rest of the cast.

I'm positive that we would all come back to do other Farscape projects in the future, and even though we have our fingers crossed it looks very unlikely from where I'm sitting at the moment.

To all the fans who tried to get us back on the air - thank you - you've achieved something great - a comuunity -keep in touch with each other, meet at copns etc. Don't throw away this wonderful scaper world we've created together.

As far as cons go I will be trying to schedule some in around my new job (don't ask I can't say what it is)I'm in London this week for what may well be my only English con ever - so please drop by to Starfury and say hello UK scapers.

Have been writing so many new songs for the band - Number 96 - and as soon as Wayne gets his but back to Oz we'll start playing live here in Sydney.

A special cheerio to Dwal, Jane, Lhaal, Craislover and Jason H. Love you guys!!!!

Thanks again - see you at Starfury -

Cheers!!!

Anth

Not too optimistic but its nice to hear from him. Kinda contradicts what Juliet Blake said about continuing the franchise with a possible movie or tv movie.

*sigh*..keep hanging on I guess.

Well, bless him. He's a bit pessimistic but I understand (and expect) that all of the actors need to keep working at other jobs and must focus all their energies on those new projects. HOWEVER :ewink:, I am reminded that Anth also reported that EM.TV was behind the cancellation ... something that Rockne flatly denied. As long as he's still interested in coming back if/when the opportunity arises, I'm happy :)

As much as we all love Anth, given his track record it isn't a good idea to put too much emotional energy into a response to his "moving on" comment. It was very kind of him to thank us yet again, but at this point I think we should hang on to Juliet Blake's words, particularly her commentary about billionaires' interest. IMHO, there is absolutely no way this issue of renewing Farscape can be resolved until the two parent companies in financial straights divest themselves of Henson and the SciFi Channel to companies that actually have some capital. Every last one of the people interested in making the purchase (save Barry Diller, no doubt) might be a Scaper and have plans we know nothing about. It would not surprise me in the least to discover that one of those billionaires was associated with Viacom, or even Disney. As little confidence as I have in Disney actually continuing to produce Farscape because of its lack of family-friendliness, for all I know they have a Disney Adult Channel planned, of which Farscape would be without question the centerpiece during startup.

I agree, LadyCrais. Ploppy is an actor, and they gotta eat. Actors get a job, they show up and do it. This campaign will get someone to create the job for him to show up to! We work harder now than ever Scapers.

I don't think Anth's tone is indicative of the rest of the crew. I remember him taking about his plans at Creation Con/NYC, and he's one very busy person. Asides from acting and his band Number 96, he also teaches film at university. He obviously really loves it, and didn't get to teach much while doing Farscape. I think he was the first one to start working again after Black Friday.

My take is that he's just a very talented guy with a lot of things on his plate...but he'd be back if, err when, they do more Farscape.

Heck, Disney might like it particularly for its family un-friendliness. Let's not forget that Disney isn't just cuddly cartoons anymore, they no longer try to hide their connections with their films for adults distributed through Miramax, which they own. They also own ABC, I'm sure they're connected with a slew of other channels, and in recent decades they've made more of an effort to be seen as more than cartoons for kids. If I remember correctly, they're somehow connected with Buena Vista, too.

Anyway, they've got more places to put Farscape than in the Disney Channel lineup, should they decide to purchase Henson. They probably wouldn't slap the Mickey Mouse ears in the closing credits, but I bet they wouldn't be ashamed to be associated with "adult" entertainment like they once were. There was a time when they tried to keep it hush-hush that they had anything to do with distributing *gasp* R rated films! Then word got out, the world didn't end, no one wrote nasty letters, so they got over it.

Was a time when people would have been shocked at a "family" company like Henson being involved with Farscape. The makers of Sesame Street anything but wholesome!?! Bite your tongue! Disney would probably love to be associated with quality like that, no matter who the audience is, wouldn't you think? Could end up on ESPN for all I care, so long as I get to see it.
