So after the debacle with TV Guide this morning, DoA asked me to please call UPN (haven't done that yet..waiting for west coast time) and VIACOM to give them a heads up that ice cream is also coming their way.

I got Summer Redstone's secretary this morning.

Wow. Well..okay. Cool! We just wanted to let you know that we've arranged for a delivery of some gifts to your offices for today and they are perishable so well, we didn't want them sitting on someone's desk for the weekend.

Yes ma'am. It's ice cream.

You sent us ice cream?

Yes. We wanted you to enjoy your Friday at the office on us.

Ice cream? For real? :love2:

Yes ma'am. Homemade ice cream. It's been overnighted and it should be arriving there anytime this morning....


She took all of the vital information and thanked me PROFUSELY. I told her to make sure that Mr. Redstone and everyone in the office enjoyed some of it on behalf of fans of Farscape.

So Scapers...(*and DoA) you ALL rock MIGHTILY! They know who we are AND they are impressed with us!

I believe the wonderful aeryncrichton first suggested Graeter's for TVGuide and we all loved the idea for UPN/Viacom as well. Here are the flavors they are hopefully enjoying as we type:

So we did ice cream baskets for UPN, Viacom, and TV Guide at this point, correct?

We sent twelve pints of ice cream to Viacom and UPN (thanks DoA) and they will also be receiving floral arrangements on Monday (again..DoA).

We collected money and a few 'Scapers put together the fundage last week for it. The total came to $200 for the stuff to Matt...$110 each for Viacom and UPN on the ice cream..and I don't know how much the flowers cost.

We have some other projects coming up as well..so keep your eyes open! :D

And I would like to add that both the ice cream and the flowers sent to Viacom/UPN were also signed by "Members of Savefarscape.com" :)

I do apologize for those who would have wanted to participate for not posting the Paypal info on the board. Since it was my personal e-mail account, I felt more comfortable handing it out on a one-to-one basis by PM. We still managed to collect just about enough to cover everything (including the bird of paradise to Ms. Hammer last Friday :ewink: ). Total gross contributions (ie, before Paypal takes their cut) were $472, of which $150 went to Bonnie's BOP, $220 went to the ice cream and the remaining $102 went to the flowers, which were $67 each after taxes and delivery charges are added. :D

IMHO this is in a large part because of the positive nature of this campaign and everyone here trying to make season five a reality. Staying focused, positive, and supportive of one another is what I think is allowing us to get our foot in the door of Viacom/UPN. Had we been (overly) insulting and started a boycott of Sci-Fi. I feel that Farscape and our campaign would not have been given the time of day. I would like to thank Red and company for the time, money, and most of all keeping us on the right track. Because without you people none of this would be possible.
