I got Dawn Ostroff's secretary and here's how THAT conversation went:

I believe the wonderful aeryncrichton first suggested Graeter's for TVGuide and we all loved the idea for UPN/Viacom as well. Here are the flavors they are hopefully enjoying as we type:

Thanks too to aeryncrichton who came up with the original idea of ice cream. It seemed to be quite a hit at each office. "The day those Farscape people sent ice cream" will long be remembered at each place, no doubt. Fruitbaskets etc are nice, but I bet the ice cream gets remembered longer ("I so hate you!"). (She shouldn't worry - since ice cream is cold, it doesn't have many calories! How's that for an appropriate nerd joke?)

It was good of you Twich to call them up to make sure the ice cream didn't melt before it was enjoyed. I hadn't thought about it, but it was a chance to reinforce Farscape - not only did it come care of savefarscape (mention once), but gave Twich an excuse to call up and remind them about savefarscape (mention twice). How can you help but want to support a show whose fans send you goodies?

Now whenever those people have ice cream, they will think of Farscape!

And for whoever asked about coffee ice cream? DA maybe? The mocha chip is coffee ice cream with absofrellinglutely amazing chocolate chips in it. Graeters doesn't add chocolate chips. They drizzle the chocolate in and it forms it's own shapes as it cools. These can be amazingly large chunks when all is said and done...

BTW, mocha chip is my favorite, 'cept for strawberry chip which is seasonal <sigh>. Good thing that or I'd weigh more than my car.

Not to be the voice of dissent, but I would seriously NOT call again. I know it would be wonderful to have repeated confirmation of the fact that they know us and apparently like us :D, and I know we would all kill for details about their reactions, etc. but let's not kill the golden goose. We have obviously made one hell of an impression, which is all we were after. Let's don't dilute it now with repeated phone calls. They are already scheduled to be receiving a delivery of flowers on Monday that will reference the ice cream. I'd leave it at that for now.

For those worried about whether the ice cream showed up or not, we do have confirmation that TVGuide received theirs, and I've got the tracking numbers for the UPN/Viacom orders. As soon as I get home from work this evening, I will follow up with Graeters to verify that the ice cream was delivered.

If everyone wants a repeat performance (keeping in mind that sequels are rarely as satisfying as the original), let's give them some time (say, 4-6 weeks) and then surprise them again with another unique gift. That would be the time to call again, IMO.
