Hi, I'm new. Got Farscape Season One. It's the first time I've watched a whole farscape season, I use to only catch episodes here and there. WHy is it that anyone can board Moria at will? It just seems like anyone can hop aboard and cause trouble. Can't Moria just run away or stop them from landing inside her? I find this to be very akward.

Which episode are you talking about here, manything711? I don't remember any episode where someone boarded Moya in a way that wasn't explained. The only times we've seen people board Moya was when Pilot and the crew specifically allowed them to board (like in Back and Back to the Future, for example) or when she was sick or distracted by something and couldn't quite pay attention to her sensors (like in Exodus from Genesis, when those bugs were attacking her and she didn't have time to worry about the PK Marauder that boarded her).
And when the Moya crew does decide to let someone on board, there is usually a discussion about why they would make such a decision. In Back and Back to the Future, it was because D'Argo realized that the people on a distressed ship were allies to his people, and he wanted to help them; in Throne for a Loss, they let the Tavleks on board because they needed to trade with them for food and supplies. There is always a good reason (well, a reason, in any case) for why those people were brought on board.
Or are you talking about the bugs from Exodus from Genesis themselves? I thought the reason they were able to get on board was because they were so small that she and Pilot thought they were some sort of debris. (I guess it's very similar to the way we wouldn't be able to prevent a virus or bacteria from getting into our bodies, either...)
That said, Moya doesn't have any weapons to speak of, so she has very few ways of defending herself. Most of the time, she and the crew do run away whenever they can, but if they are met by someone with superior firepower with no way to run away, they would have to let the people aboard or they would be killed. (Although honestly, I can't think of any episode like that... Really, which episode are you talking about?)
Also, welcome to this board and to Farscape, manything711! It's always nice to see new faces around here. :)

Hey, I think you pretty much answered my question, those were the episodes I pretty much had in mind. I suppose on second thought they do police their ship much better then I thought. I guess sometimes it seems like they invite too much trouble lol. Thanks for answering my Q. Very nice of you.

You have to admit, it would be a kindof boring show if no one could board moya. The only time they could have episodes would be when they stopped for foodcubes.
Chrichton: Theres an enemy ship coming.
D'Argo: Moya, starburst!
Sorry just feeling looney today.

No problem, manything711! Any time. I am glad I could help. :)
And I do agree that the Moya crew sometimes seems to invite too much trouble on themselves. But to be fair, they are alone and on the run, on an unarmed ship in hostile territory with pretty much no food or currency. They can't exactly be too picky about who they ask for help, or they won't be able to survive.
