Lakh and Ankh were what... and what happened to them?
who45
11-21-2003, 04:02 PM
They were Seers who ruled the Underworld. Didn't they die when the Underworld was destroyed?
grinner
11-21-2003, 04:09 PM
arg... okay... but WHAT were they? What was done to them?
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 04:11 PM
They were computers, but I can't remember what was done. Didn't K-9 interface with them at some point?
grinner
11-21-2003, 04:17 PM
They were Minyans that had their heads removed which were replaced by a machine... who is closest... as she stated technically who they were and what happened to them... you are up who... :D
who45
11-21-2003, 04:19 PM
yea!
What did the Doctor and Ace use to jam the Cybermen's transmission for reinforcements?
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 04:32 PM
Ace's custom-built (by the Doctor, of course) BOOM BOX!
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 04:33 PM
NQ. What is the "ironic symmetry" behind Ace's life?
grinner
11-21-2003, 04:39 PM
What, that she burnt down the house she grew up in, in Ghostlight...
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 04:47 PM
Nope.
who45
11-21-2003, 04:49 PM
Was it that she saved her Mother that she hated in Curse of Fenric?
grinner
11-21-2003, 04:53 PM
That has to be it... I knew she had saved her mother as a baby... but couldn't remember the episode. I should have realized it would be who's FAVORITE episode to stump me with... :P:P:P:D
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 04:54 PM
Who, you've almost got it. You're just missing one KEY piece of information...
who45
11-21-2003, 04:58 PM
That Ace, her grandmother and Ace's mother were decendents of the Vikings...or that by helping her grandmother and mother escape, she created her own future?
who45

Who, you're still almost there. Think of your answer as a noun. It's missing an adjective...
who45
11-21-2003, 05:04 PM
Ok, just tell me or let grinner have a shot.
grinner
11-21-2003, 05:05 PM
I have no frelling clue what he is looking for.
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 05:06 PM
Clue: Think relationships
who45
11-21-2003, 05:12 PM
Well, she loved Sorrin who was also a descendent of the Vikings and was taken over by Ancient. He was killed but it is believed that later Ace marries one of Sorrin's descendents.
If that's not it just tell me because I am all out of answers. I mean, both of those answers are ironic symmetry of Ace's life
grinner
11-21-2003, 05:18 PM
So is her burning down the house she grew up in years before she was born.

Yes, that was a big one too.
Kurt_eh
11-21-2003, 05:54 PM
Part one was that baby Audry was her own mother. So yes, creating her own future by saving the life of her mother was a huge chunk of it, but the irony was that the baby she felt so much affection for turns out to be the mother she hates so much later in life.

grinner
11-21-2003, 08:02 PM
Didn't the Doctor free him from the box that controled him?
who45
11-21-2003, 08:04 PM
Well gee, you got that one quick.
grinner
11-21-2003, 08:06 PM

Who was killed by Mavic Chen and why?
who45
11-21-2003, 08:16 PM
Was it Sara...he tricked her into killing her brother and she turned to the Doctor after she realized that Chen was a traitor.
grinner
11-21-2003, 08:21 PM
Sara Kingdom wasn't killed by Chen... she was on Kembel when the Time Destructor was activated.
who45
11-21-2003, 08:23 PM
well shoot...I have no idea then...it wasn't the Daleks was it?
grinner

grinner
11-21-2003, 08:46 PM

who45
11-21-2003, 08:49 PM
Mmmmm...let me think about this one.
who45
11-22-2003, 07:45 PM
Are you asking did he play a duel role in an episode?
grinner
11-22-2003, 07:53 PM
well... I am asking what he did... with regards to both sides...
who45
11-22-2003, 08:20 PM
I don't remember about the Dalek's Master Plan very well...I think that he pretended to side with the Daleks, then switched sides with the Doctor...didn't also switch the core to the time destructor with a fake?
grinner
11-22-2003, 08:46 PM
yes yes and yes. That will work.
http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_v.htm
of all the episodes that I wish still was around... this one tops the list. 13 episodes, including the cutaway, what an amazing episode this one must have been. Add that to the fact that it was only aired once... DAMN YOU BBC...
who45
11-22-2003, 08:56 PM
It does make you mad when you think of all those that were lost or destroyed. Sad really.
When the Doctor met one of Scaroth's twelve splinters, whose house were they in?
grinner
11-22-2003, 09:09 PM
wasn't it Count Scarlioni's... which was Scaroth
who45
11-22-2003, 09:16 PM
No, this other splinter of Scaroth was in the past around the early 1500's... it was someone famous.
grinner
11-22-2003, 09:25 PM
hmmm... Captain Tancredi?
who45
11-22-2003, 09:52 PM
No, it was a famous painter...the Doctor wanted to see him at the ball in the Masque of Mandrgora episode...
grinner
11-22-2003, 09:54 PM
Leonardo Da Vinci?... I didn't think they were in his house... wow... my memory is bad.
who45
11-22-2003, 10:00 PM

quick question... have you read many of the new adventure books? Do you want to try using them also?
What was behind the Secret door on Peladon?
who45
11-22-2003, 11:01 PM
I have some. Most of them are from the Fourth, Fifth (big surprise those two huh) and sixth. The book stores here are limited on them, but at Waldens they know me because I go there a lot, they will keep some on order for me. So, sure we can use those...now I say that and watch me suck at it,lol.

Not the one I'm thinking of. Hint: Mel corrects him, and said animal has indirect ties to farscape...

Kurt_eh

It's a mammal. (and take another look at the first hint ;) )
grinner

Kurt_eh
11-25-2003, 03:23 PM
What mammals are in the continent where Farscape is produced?
grinner
11-25-2003, 03:24 PM
a kangaroo?
Kurt_eh
11-25-2003, 03:30 PM
That line has stuck with me for a long long time:
"A kangaroo never forgets!"
"Elephant, Doctor!
"What?"
"An elephant never forgets!"
and I forget the rest of the sequence. :D
But I still use that line. Whenever I forget something, "well, you know what they say, 'a kangaroo never forgets!'"
Most people just look at me wierd without thinking it's funny. ;)

Anthony Stewart Head Tops Poll November 19
Anthony Stewart Head, best known as Giles on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and known to Doctor Who fans for his turn as Grayvorn in the "Excelis" series from Big Finish, was voted the audience's favorite to play the next Doctor in a Radio Times poll, beating runners-up Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Alan Davies and Ian Richardson. "I'm in very good company - good God, I beat Alan Rickman," said Head. "I suppose I would be a logical choice to play the Doctor just because Giles, my character in Buffy, has the same light and dark sides and quirkiness as Doctor Who." He said his favorite Doctor was Patrick Troughton "because you never knew what was going on inside his Doctor." The article on the BBC's website noting the Radio Times poll results also features comments from writer Russell T. Davies; you can read it by clicking here (or here to read a similar story on Yahoo!). (Thanks to everyone who wrote in with comments)
who45
11-25-2003, 07:18 PM
Yes. What do you think about if he became the next Doctor? I think he would make a really good one. I do think at first, some are so used to him as Giles, that it might take some getting used to. I think he could pull it off.
grinner
11-25-2003, 07:24 PM

How did the Chameleons kidnap young humans and why?
Here's one off the wall....
Clive Owen for the next Doctor
An actor who will not conform, but can be compelling, imho.
(This is THE Who thread right?)
Just getting over so many hours on UKGold last weekend.
And you whovians are you getting FS on scifi uk?
I catch them when I come home from work, we're back in the early stuff, wonderfully refreshing!.......every time you watch something new.
And it's good that still FS has not become a cult series, for all the pressure, which helps when introducing newbies.
A cult label never encourages.

who45
11-27-2003, 08:48 PM
Yes, it was. I have enough leftover to feed a small country, lol.
Didn't it have to do with the Time Lords tracking him?

Kurt_eh's answer seemed closer than mine, so If you want Kurt, you can ask the next question.
Been away a few days, and Who 45,I did watch most of the whole weekend on BBC's gold for the Doctor, I still can't understand why they didn't do it mainstream.
grinner, hope you had a good TG.
and if Eddy or Anth get the role of the next Doctor, I'll be well frelled off , they are the last thing that's needed.
Too lighthearted.
The next Doctor, should go back to the enigma of who or what he is about???????? Not a pantomime queen or a coffee advert actor.
grinner
11-28-2003, 09:41 PM
what about Sean Pertwee then? It would be a toss up... for me... between A.S.H. and Sean
Sean Pertrwee was in the British series of Chancer with Clive Owen I mentioned earlier, He can play a well moody sob!
So yes, he can have my vote. Good call.
grinner
11-28-2003, 09:53 PM
besides... there is a bit of a connection for Sean to have the role... a role that his father loved... until his best friend died.
who45
11-28-2003, 09:57 PM
I think it would be kind of bittersweet if Sean did get it.
grinner
11-28-2003, 10:18 PM
yes... bittersweet. I read an interview that Sean stated that he would love to be the Doctor... that it is something that he has wanted to do for years.

Once they are alone, Ben turns on the Doctor. His preoccupation with the fruit bowl - as well as his other nonsense - has Ben once again believing that this man may not be the Doctor at all. Polly supports the Doctor as best she can, but he brushes both of them off and returns to examining one particular apple. From it he extracts a small electronic microphone, showing it to his companions with a smile. He smashes the unit with his shoe.
