Btw...I did find The Talons of Weng-Chiang and Seeds of Death on DVD for $10 each. Not as good as $3 , but it made me happy.

grinner
12-06-2003, 04:10 PM
yes it was Animus.

That is cool. Those are 2 really good episodes.

Who replaces Maddox at the synch op station to stop a nuclear attack on another sea base?

grinner
12-09-2003, 02:09 PM
I know he replaced Micheal... but I can't find out who replaced him.

who45
12-09-2003, 02:14 PM
It's at the end of the Warriors of the Deep episode....

grinner
12-09-2003, 03:01 PM
d'uh... the Doctor.

NQ. What does Jo have growing on her hand that Vabor and Taron have the cure for? What caused it?

who45
12-09-2003, 05:54 PM
Hint?

grinner
12-09-2003, 05:59 PM
It is a 3rd Doctor episode involving the Daleks.

who45
12-09-2003, 06:07 PM

who45

Who was in charge of UNIT when the Brigadier was in Geneva and helped the Doctor destroy the Kryniod?

grinner
12-10-2003, 08:04 PM
Was it Major Beresford?

who45
12-10-2003, 08:06 PM
Drat, thought I had you on that one.

grinner
12-10-2003, 08:15 PM
I had to hunt for that answer. I was so not thinking it was the seeds of doom.

NQ. Where was the Doctor supposed to take Sarah... and where did he actually take her?

who45
12-10-2003, 08:18 PM
Do you mean the time he was going to take her to London, but they ended up on Zeta Minor instead?

grinner
12-10-2003, 08:19 PM
well... yes and no... I meant about where he finally left her.

who45
12-10-2003, 08:25 PM
Well if you mean when he was going to take her home to South Croidon (sp?) I know he took her to the wrong place, but I don't think it said where it was.

grinner
12-10-2003, 08:28 PM

The Doctor left Polly and Ben on the very same day...when?

grinner
12-10-2003, 08:43 PM
what? Which thread? someone disrespecting me? Why I never... :g2f:

Well it was the War Machines episode when he picked them up... which was the same day as the the Faceless Ones episode... hmm. I will need to search to find the actual date.

grinner

whoa... that is harsh... I wonder what I did to Talyn that he would disrespect me in such a way....hmmm:confused:

who45
12-10-2003, 08:57 PM
I don't know. With Talyn his joking can go a wee bit too far sometimes. Well, I'll talk to you later, gotta get at least 6 hours of sleep.

Do leviathons even have a shoulder?

:D

who45
12-11-2003, 02:15 PM
My answer was wrong so grinner, you get to ask another question.

grinner
12-11-2003, 04:58 PM
actually I haven't found out the date that both the War Machines and the Faceless Ones occured on. I can't find the actual date... even though I have seen it before.

who45
12-11-2003, 06:15 PM
You know, you'd think I'd been drinking or smoking something because you did get it right, I don't know why I said I got the question wrong...sheesh...you got it right. I was looking for that the Doctor brought them back the same day he picked them up and you basically said that. Sorry.:O

grinner
12-11-2003, 09:08 PM
In what episode did the Doctor meet the Brigadier... and what was he(the Brigadier) doing?

who45
12-12-2003, 02:31 PM
I think it was the Web of Fear episode and he was just taking over command.

grinner
12-12-2003, 03:34 PM
yes... but what was he doing when he met the Doctor. Where was he?

who45
12-12-2003, 08:57 PM
In a tunnel fighting Yetis?

grinner
12-12-2003, 09:04 PM
close... he was in the Tunnels when the Doctor and Victoria were running in it. He wasn't please to see them and inquired as to why they were there.

He was also a colonel.

who45
12-12-2003, 09:11 PM
Who was the youngest of Traken's five Consuls?

who45
12-13-2003, 02:54 PM
Hints?

grinner
12-13-2003, 03:26 PM
sorry I was helping my brother move... boy am I tired.

I think it was Counselor Tremas' fiance... Nyssa's soon to be step mom... hmmm... I can't think of her name... wait... it'll come to me.

who45
12-13-2003, 08:24 PM
Kassia, but your answer was close enough.

I read the thread about you moving your brother and sis-in-law...sheesh, you should be tired. Hope you've taken plenty of pain reliever, I know I would be. Hope your wrist is better.

grinner
12-13-2003, 08:31 PM
actually my knees and my back hurt more than my wrist. I was very close to complete muscle fatigue... my brother Steve(1) did remark about how 10 years ago... we would throw cases of Pepsi all day... and come back for more... and I just told him... 10 years ago we were in our early to mid 20's... there is a HUGE difference to being 20something and being 30somethings. Recovery rates are a lot longer.

Oh yes, I remember the 20's. That's when you could get up off the floor without groaning and knees popping.

I had a really interesting conversation with my grandmother this afternoon... I only had to mention that my brother was moving 6 times... and that he bought a new house 5 times... and that he sold the house 5 times... and that he was moving... etc... etc...

I really sucks having someone you love start to lose their memories... She told me about visiting Fulton, Illinois and her family 7 times.

This was all in a HALF HOUR conversation. :cry2:

who45
12-13-2003, 08:46 PM
Yeah, that is sad, grandmothers are special. Mine will be 79 Christmas day. She can still walk circles around all of us, but she worries a lot and I've noticed that she is starting to forget little things too. It really makes her sad because most of her friends have died or are really sick. Now she has been going places with some women from her church that are in their 50's. I could tell you some stories, lol.

grinner
12-13-2003, 08:49 PM
My grandmother will be 84 this year. She is the last of my grandparents living. She has 27 great-grandchildren... which is cool that she has seen that many.

grinner
12-13-2003, 08:55 PM
What happens to the astronaut who takes up Kaftan's offer of 50 pounds to the person who opens up a tombs door? What was inside the tomb?

who45
12-13-2003, 08:56 PM
I only have that granmother as well. Both of my grandfathers have died and my Dad's mom. I am the only grandchild, so yes I did get a wee spoiled by her, lol.

grinner
12-13-2003, 09:01 PM
the only grandchild... wow. I have no idea what that is like... as there are 17 on my mom's side... and 9 on my father's side

who45
12-13-2003, 09:08 PM
Wow, that's a lot. My Mom's two brother's never married...yet and her sister can't have children so it's just me. Don't know if Mom and Dad just wanted only me or were afraid to have more kids like me,lol Just kidding.

grinner
12-13-2003, 09:11 PM
that is how the 17 have begotten 27 great-grand children... but there are 8 of us grandchildren that DON'T have any spawn yet... so... it may grow even more.

who45
12-13-2003, 09:17 PM
My cousin and I are the only 2 that aren't married and with kids yet. Needless to say we have family, except my parents god bless them, that is always trying to fix us up with someone.:g2f:

grinner
12-13-2003, 09:20 PM
:eek2: parents... on my part... it is my mom's friend. She always is trying to set me up with females that are... well... FAR from me. As she thinks that I should move back to the Chicago area... as she thinks I should be the one to watch over my mom and dad... wow... what a lot of pressure from someone who is only barely related to me...

who45
12-13-2003, 09:34 PM
Yeah, I'd say that's a lot of pressure. The last guy my aunt tried to set me up with hated anything sci-fi, called me "sweet thang" and had hands that I swear could move quicker than you could blink. I think he took the hint when I stepped on his foot each time by "accident". Did I mention that I had heeled boots on at the time?Family, you got to love them anyway.

grinner
12-13-2003, 09:36 PM
well... they are a work.

who45
12-13-2003, 09:44 PM
You can say that again.

grinner
12-13-2003, 09:45 PM
okay I will

who45

This has got to be from Tomb of the Cybermen right....so I think it was Cybermen inside so I'm guessing that the man who opened the door was probably killed.

Btw....Don't you have a companion guide to Doctor Who? I bought one Friday at Barnes and Nobles. It came out in 2003, so I thought it should be pretty up to date.

grinner
12-14-2003, 01:45 PM
Nope... don't have it... and I will have to go get it.

and yes to your answer

who45
12-14-2003, 03:55 PM
The TARDIS arrives in the year 2540 on board an Earth spaceship. Who steals the ship's cargo including the TARDIS?

grinner
12-15-2003, 04:43 PM
was it the Ogrons working for the Daleks?

who45
12-15-2003, 06:39 PM
Yes, you got it.

grinner
12-15-2003, 08:07 PM
What occured in 2615 and why is it important for the Doctor?

Egg
12-16-2003, 12:03 PM
He shoots he scores...half a point (on the quiet)....brings total to 1.5 points........happy day :joy:

grinner
12-16-2003, 12:06 PM
why not post your answer... and then ask a new one Egg? I have no problem with your answer over PM... as it is correct. You should be able to ask a question.:D

then I would have to dig out all my Doctor videos and watch them again, I just don't have the time anymore, but it was nice to have a go at a question. I was trying not to interupt your flow.
:aok:

grinner
12-16-2003, 12:14 PM

Doesn't the Mechanoids are sent to the planet Mechanus. Later the Machanoids and the Daleks fight and almost destroy eachother...I think that's the time that Ian and Barbara leave also.

grinner
12-17-2003, 03:32 PM
yep... I was looking for the first Colonists sent to Mechanus... so... that works.

who45
12-17-2003, 06:21 PM
How does Adric end up wounding Aris?

grinner
12-18-2003, 05:09 PM
wasn't Adric in that Personal carrier and accidentally shoots him?

who45
12-18-2003, 07:15 PM
Yes, you're right.

grinner
12-18-2003, 07:43 PM
In what vehicle do we first see Liz Shaw... and where is she going... for what reason?

who45
12-18-2003, 07:48 PM
oooh, good question. I'm guessing, but I think it was a car and she was going to meet the Brigadier.

grinner
12-18-2003, 07:52 PM
nope... what type of car? and nope.

who45
12-18-2003, 08:06 PM
well shoot...a black Ford Executive and she was going to meet a Scientific Adviser.

grinner
12-18-2003, 10:40 PM
yep and yep... and who was that scientific advisor??? hmmm???:P

who45
12-19-2003, 02:36 PM
The Doctor

Why did the Daleks come to London 1963?

grinner
12-19-2003, 05:27 PM
to invade? :D

Wait... don't tell me... I will remember.

who45
12-19-2003, 06:02 PM
Need a hint?

grinner
12-19-2003, 06:09 PM
I think this is the 7th Doctor episode... and they are searching for the Hand of Rassilon... or is it Omega...

who45
12-19-2003, 06:19 PM
Hand of Omega, you're right. You're next.

grinner
12-19-2003, 09:48 PM
what changes did the Meddling Monk want to make by attempting to alter history in "The Time Meddler"?

who45
12-19-2003, 09:57 PM
I had to google this, not sure if it's what you're looking for.

The Monk wanted to save Harold's army from having to attack the Vikings by destroying them with an unspecified weapon, ensuring that William is defeated at Hastings and thus bringing a period of peace to Europe.

grinner
12-19-2003, 10:02 PM

who45
12-21-2003, 02:49 PM
Need any hints? I think this one might have been too hard.

grinner
12-21-2003, 03:30 PM
I think it is mentioned by the Brigadier that he opened up a dealership or something.

who45
12-21-2003, 06:37 PM
yep, that's right...a used car dealership.

grinner
12-22-2003, 05:16 AM
Why does the Doctor show/feel no remorse in stealing cloths in 'The Crusade'?

who45
12-22-2003, 03:01 PM
Weren't the clothes stolen in the first place; the man was going to resell the stolen clothes?

grinner
12-22-2003, 03:14 PM
yep

who45
12-22-2003, 03:21 PM
Who kills Morbius and how does he die?

grinner
12-22-2003, 03:30 PM
didn't the Timelords kill Morbius after a trial? If not I will have to watch Brain of Morbius again.

who45
12-22-2003, 06:40 PM
No, someone else killed him in The Brain of Morbius....you can kind of say that it was more than one person...

grinner
12-22-2003, 09:18 PM
hmm... think think think...

who45
12-23-2003, 02:56 PM
They were protectors of the Sacred Flame....

grinner
12-23-2003, 03:35 PM
The Sisterhood of Karn? But according to the book transcription... it was an Army of TimeLords who defeated him and the High Council was the ones that placed him in the Dispersal Chamber. Hmm???

who45
12-23-2003, 07:42 PM
Actually, I should have been more specific because I was looking for who killed the "new" Morbius; the one that Solon made a new body for. The High council did kill Morbius, then the Sisiterhood of Karn drove Solon's Morbius off a cliff. So you were right on both accounts. You have it.

grinner
12-23-2003, 07:44 PM
ah... I was being thick headed and was looking at your question literally... who 'Killed' Morbius rather than who killed Morbius' Brain.

What was the evil side of the Xeraphin called?

who45
12-23-2003, 07:47 PM
Vaan?

grinner
12-23-2003, 07:49 PM
nope

who45
12-23-2003, 07:52 PM
Zarak?

grinner
12-23-2003, 07:55 PM
nope... starts with an M

who45
12-23-2003, 08:13 PM
I have no idea, go ahead and tell me.

grinner
12-23-2003, 08:15 PM
It is Mordaal.

Who was the Landlord of the Pub in Devesham and what happened to him?

who45
12-23-2003, 08:19 PM
Is this from Terror of the Zygons?

grinner
12-23-2003, 08:22 PM
yep :D

who45
12-23-2003, 08:32 PM
I think it was Angus MacGregor.... or Angus Fergus? I think he was killed by a Zygon.

grinner
12-23-2003, 08:38 PM
whoops... I told you the wrong episode... it was the Android Invasion... not the other one. Sorry.

who45
12-23-2003, 08:50 PM
I should have known that because Angus ran an Inn, not a pub, lol. The man was Morgan...I think he turned out to be an android. If that's not it I'm not sure what happened to him.

grinner
12-23-2003, 08:53 PM
yep... the Kraals made an Android duplicate of him.

who45
12-23-2003, 09:04 PM
What year was there a battle that nearly distroyed Little Hodcombe; the Doctor took Teagan in 1984 to visit her grandfather.

grinner
12-26-2003, 09:58 PM
It wasn't during the English Civil War was it? Or was it during the American Civil War. For some reason I think it has to do with a re-creation of a Civil War. hmm???

who45
12-26-2003, 10:12 PM
Engish civil War...you got it right.

grinner
12-26-2003, 10:18 PM
I don't know what year it occured...

who45
12-26-2003, 10:27 PM
I did ask for the year didn't I, but you know, I forgot the year too. But you did get that it was in the English Civil War so good enough for me...now it's going to bug me about the year.

grinner
12-26-2003, 10:29 PM
1643

who45
12-26-2003, 10:42 PM
Damn, that's bad when you have to give me the answer to my own question.

grinner
12-27-2003, 08:10 AM
:D:D

What event happened on May 17, 1900... and why was it important to the Doctor? What happened to him AFTER the events were rectified?

Egg
12-27-2003, 02:56 PM
17th May, my Birthday......
Mafeking the timelords were stealing people for a future conflict, when the Doctor told of their evil deeds he got banished to Earth.
Ok got one this time....
Who was Marc Cory and who did he work for?

grinner
12-27-2003, 03:11 PM
He was an agent of Special Space Security(?) I think... he was killed by the Daleks but managed to record the information he discovered on the Daleks plans. This was in the Dalek Cutaway that occured before the Dalek Master Plan.

Egg
12-27-2003, 03:32 PM

Well... they(the BBC) should have been nicer to them. It is the same with the Estate of Douglas Adams... the BBC 'thinks' it owns the rights to 'The HitchHikers' Trilogy... but it is going to be a serious court battle.

I didn't know they were doing that, how petty just to keep the royalties coming in no matter how old and small!
Perhaps they think they may get a film?

I don't know. They are also holding their version of John Lyndon's book 'Day of the Triffids' and will NOT release it to DVD over some monetary issues...

That is also the same reason the Blake's 7 hasn't been released to DVD yet. Money money money.

They need more of it... and the British Government won't give them more... so, since they are loosing shares to Pay Networks... (you do have those... that is what an article I read mentioned) they require more money.

This?

The Ephemeral crewmen are transported back to their own times as Striker, Marriner and Tegan cross to Wrack's ship to pay homage to the winner. The Enlighteners -- the Black and White Guardians -- appear in the stateroom with the prize, and the Black Guardian crows over his victory. The Eternals have no understanding of good or evil, and when granted the ultimate power of Enlightenment, they will unleash chaos upon the Universe. But much to his surprise, the winner is not Wrack, but the Doctor, who brought the ship into port with Turlough's help when Wrack and Mansell "fell" overboard. The Doctor turns down Enlightenment, claiming he isn't ready for it. The White Guardian, satisfied, banishes Striker and Marriner back to the empty wastes of Eternity as Marriner begs Tegan to help him.

The Doctor sends Tegan and Turlough back to Tegan's cabin to discuss the situation, hoping that the Eternals won't be able to read their minds if they're far enough away. The ever-present Marriner offers to escort Tegan back to her room, and Turlough takes the opportunity to try to contact the Black Guardian and find out what's going on. But his Guardian, infuriated by Turlough's inability to kill the Doctor, nearly throttles him to death and curses him to remain on this ship for the rest of his life. Tegan, berating Marriner for the deaths of Critas' crew, learns to her further disgust that the Eternals on the ship were not killed but transferred back into Eternity while the humans aboard died. Marriner is fascinated by her sparkling mind, which is more alive than any Ephemeral he's ever known.

They die.
