Cambridge... where she was pulled away from by UNIT.
grinner
07-05-2004, 09:44 AM
How do the Vardens travel? How do they 'speak'. Why did they want to take over Gallifrey?
who45
07-05-2004, 09:46 AM
Cambridge... where she was pulled away from by UNIT. Ya know, I had put Cambridge with my answer to Physics and medicine, but deleted it because I thought it was wrong. Should know better by now :lol
who45
07-05-2004, 09:51 AM
How do the Vardens travel? How do they 'speak'. Why did they want to take over Gallifrey? This is from 'Invasion of Time' right?...Didn't they travel by some kind of mental energy...they "spoke" by telepathy..or thought....I think they wanted to take over Gallifrey so they could have could have power over the Matrix...or rule the universe...hhmmm been awhile since I've seen this episode.
grinner
07-05-2004, 09:51 AM

who45
07-05-2004, 04:51 PM
not mental energy... Thru another power...they used the Time Lords scan beams to travel in the Matrix.
grinner
07-05-2004, 05:17 PM
that is correct. why did they want Gallifrey?
who45

Before Chang died, what did he tell The Doctor and Leela to beware of when they found Weng-Chiang?
who45
07-09-2004, 02:33 PM
need any hints?
who45
07-11-2004, 01:32 PM
:bump:
grinner
07-11-2004, 01:46 PM
The Doctor knows now that Chang knows Weng-Chiang is not a god. Chang admits he thought, at first, Weng-Chiang was the god. He gave Weng sanctuary while the soldiers of Tung Chi searched for all. The soldiers found the cabinet and took it; afterward it was given away as a gift -- to Litefoot's family
who45
07-11-2004, 01:53 PM
But what did Chang tell them to beware of...it was when he was dying...he said 'Beware of...' what ...and what did it mean?
grinner
07-15-2004, 11:48 AM
probably to beware of the homoculous. Mr. Sin.
who45
07-15-2004, 01:30 PM
No...it was something else in Weng-Chiang's new hide out.
who45
07-16-2004, 09:14 PM
still don't know?
grinner
07-16-2004, 09:15 PM
I reread the entire novelization of this episode and can't see what you want
who45
07-16-2004, 09:22 PM
Chang start to ramble about being the poor son of a peasant who will soon entertain the Queen Empress at Buckingham Palace. He also says he sees his ancestors coming to greet him from the Palace of Jade, the ancestors carrying fruit and flowers as gifts. He will, in seconds, cross the bridge to meet them. He touches the shoe of the Doctor, telling them to "beware the eyes of the dragon." He also leaves the shoe clue, which the Doctor and Leela cannot figure out -- shoe, boot, earth? A Chinese puzzle, the Doctor says as Chang cannot explain further... he is dead.
He told him beware the eyes of the Dragon...which was a statue...the eyes were lasers.

After the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Susan encounter the Master, how does The Doctor end up at the Capitol...how did he get there?
grinner
07-16-2004, 09:42 PM
He uses the recall device that The High Council of Gallifrey gave to the Master

I guess that one was easy.

I think he was upset that she interrupted him because he wanted to finish the fight himself.
grinner
07-18-2004, 03:51 PM
nope... something very specific
who45
07-18-2004, 03:57 PM
you do mean when The Doctor attacked Ascaris right? He said he wanted to do a one-two punch...or something like that. If that's not right I'll go read it.

who45
07-18-2004, 06:51 PM
This was all I could find...if it's not it, then I don't know....'Unexpectedly, the Doctor is cross with Vicki for ruining his fun. He was all ready to administer "the old one-two" to finish the man off himself. However, the Doctor is pleased at his success, glad for a change to use his brawn rather than his brain to defeat an opponent. It takes him back to the time when he used to teach the Mountain Mauler of Montana how to fight! Vicki is reduced to gales of laughter over this.'

Well, I just got a look at the new Doctor, as filming has finally begun in Wales, and...well, I was rather surprised. Gone are the hair styles, hats, scarves, period dress that has marked the Doctor's character. The new Doctor will wear a modern leather coat, v-necked black t-shirt, black pants and an unknown style of shoes, and have close cropped hair. The actor portraying the Doctor, whose name escapes me, says ever actor got to choose his costume and he wants to take the Doctor in a new direction, possibly expanding on his relationship with his traveler-mate. Meanwhile the makers of the new series promise to stick to tradition with a tweak here or there to "update" it.
This will be something to see, I think.
who45
07-20-2004, 04:02 PM
His name is Christopher Eccleston...still dissapointed it wasn't Anthony Stewart Head..but oh well. I am very looking forward to the new episodes...counting down the days in fact. I do however think that the old episodes will always remain the best...there was just something special about all those Doctors...it all just seemed to click. But who knows, the same might happen with the new. I'm just glad that my all time favorite show is going to come back. :D

I think it was something like...that Aggedor would kill any who have left the old ways...and the Doctor didn't believe this...thought there was some other explanation..

It was wriiten that in the day of Aggedor's spirit's return, a stranger would appear, bringing great peril and tribulation. Allegedly the beast was to protect the planet Peladon and its rulers.*

What caused the conflict between the Skarros Daleks and the Spiridon Daleks? What was the resolution?
who45
08-19-2004, 01:45 PM
The Spiridon Daleks were supposed to gain the ability of becoming invisible, but they only achieved this for a short time...I think the Skarro Daleks considered this a failure so they wanted to abbandon the other and the army that was frozen....if I remember correctly the Daleks were left on Spiridon unable to report what they had found.

I think it was when Sarah found the boot cupboard and commented on how big it was, when she asked the Doctor about the TARDIS he asked about how tall she was and that infinity can't be measured.....or something like that. If that's not right I will have to look it up....I just watched this episode yesterday :D

that's close to what I was looking for. It was The Doctor and her wandering around the TARDIS that brought up the question. Also when they "discovered" the other control room.
