NQ. What actor from Doctor Who made an appearance in Star Wars: ANH?

Technically it is a Type 40 Mark IV... but I will take your answer.
The Doctor's is a Type 40 Mark II

A. Are you talking about Peter Cushing from the movies? DR. WHO and the Daleks... DR. WHO and the Invasion of Earth?

I might have to google that one... but I will hold off because someone else might know it.

A: Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith

Born in Dunoon, Scotland. Spent much of his childhood in Dublin, Ireland. Before becoming an actor, Percy Smith trained as a priest, sold insurance and acted as a bodyguard for the 'Rolling Stones'. He started his acting career as a part of the Ken Campbell (I) Roadshow, at first using the name 'Kent Smith' before changing it first to Sylveste McCoy and then to the more familiar Sylvester. director Ken Campbell improvised a circus-based act about a fictitious stuntman called Sylvester McCoy and thought it would be amusing if the programme stated that this character was played by 'Sylvester McCoy.' While at the Royal Court Theatre, one of the critics missed the joke and assumed that Sylvester McCoy was a real person. McCoy like the irony of this, and adopted the name of his stage identiy.

Adept at playing both the xylophone and the spoons. He can also juggle and once gained a reputation for stuffing live ferrets down his trousers

Note: My understanding is that the actor who played the American (dialect at least) Starship captian in the Second Doctor Episode: "Tomb of the Cybermen" was also in Star Wars. But I havent' confirmed that.

grinner
05-01-2003, 07:09 AM

6. Never shown(Colin Baker)
7. Gun Shot wound(Sylvester McCoy)

Just to fine tune the regeneration answers:

2. Correct
3. I believe it was actually the radiation from the Spider's chamber.
4. Correct more or less but also fell from an antenna.
5. Spectrox Toximia to be precice, I believe
6. Was apparently killed by being violently thrown about the TARDIS.
7. I believe that technically he was killed by the doctors while on the operating table because they did not know that he was not human.

Q: What is the most direct "Kevin Bacon" game connection between Doctor Who and Rocky Horror Picture show?

grinner
05-01-2003, 10:25 AM

grinner
05-01-2003, 11:06 AM
A. Bill Croft(Doctor Who) to Barry Bostwick(Rocky Horror) via Body of evidence

A. For which country? The BBC started filming Patrick Troughton's final episode(War Games) in black and white as well as color. But the color copies do not exist anymore. A. Fendahl. From the Image of Fendahl

NQ. What was the name of the Druidic site in the Deamons?

If yes... Q. What was the major reason that the Doctor did not want to go back to Gallyfrey?

who45
05-02-2003, 09:00 PM
Yes, his brother and his friends made and wore them as a badge of courage.

A. He had neglected his becoming President of the High Council and he also had a strong belief that the Time Lords were somewhat selfish because they would not use their powers to help others. This is partly why he left Gallifey. Ofcourse, no one knows for sure the whole reason.

Q. Who made the 4th Dr.'s scarf?

[B]No, I meant why did the Hartnel Doctor leave Gallyfrey?

It was never really known why he left. that was one of the many mysteries. He did mention that him and Susan took the type 40 Tardis and left.

A. No, it was Madam Nostradamas.

Q. What does TARDIS stand for?

grinner
05-02-2003, 09:22 PM
He left after having a fight with the college of Timelords. It is in the canon of the show... it is from an early script that was used but not in totality.

When did he get the scaft from Madam Nostradamas? Was it mentioned in The Robot?

A. T(ime) A(nd) R(elative) D(imensions) I(n) S(pace). Named by Susan.

Q. Which Time Console is the main one? The wooden one used by the 2nd and 4th Doctor, or the Larger more modern looking one used by every other Doctor?

He mentioned Madam Nostradamus knitted the scarf in Ark in Space when it was burned by the ships security device.

The answer to your question....i think it's the modern looking one?
*fingers crossed*

grinner
05-02-2003, 09:38 PM
According to The Technology of Doctor Who... it is the older looking console. But that was kind of a trick question.

NQ. After the Brigadier left UNIT... he became headmaster of a school. What was the name of this school? And who was a student there?

who45
05-02-2003, 10:12 PM

Q: What is the most direct "Kevin Bacon" game connection between Doctor Who and Rocky Horror Picture show?

The 6th Doctor was forcibly regenerated by the previous
five - in conjunction with the as-then embryonic 7th.

Bonus points if you can name the sadistic australian librarian responsible for this :)

As for the RHPS connection:..

Tim Curry was once suggested as the Doctor.

.This may be what you were thinking of though:

Richard O'Brien created RHPS and starred as Riff Raff
- He was also in Flash Gordon with Blue Peter presenter
Peter Duncan, and Ace has a Blue Peter badge. (Also,
the good Doctor appeared on BP many times)

Unless you were thinking of something else?

A. Which one? I think he lost 3 or 4 of them. I remember in one episode that he loses one and takes Ramana's cause it was better than his. I think it was a Dalek episode with Davros...Destiny of the Daleks

Nope it was in The Visitation.

NQ. In what episode is it that the Doctor last uses a gun?

Kurt_eh
05-06-2003, 03:08 PM

CONTINUITY

The TARDIS' lateral balance cones are 'playing up' (probably 'temperamental solenoids'), foiling the Doctor's attempt to get Tegan back to 1981 Heathrow 'We're about 3 years early.'

Adric's homing device (see Full Circle) is dropped in the fight with the villagers. Reference is again made to Adric's ability to recover from injuries quickly. He and Nyssa are able to pilot the TARDIS on their own.

The Terileptils are very intelligent semi-reptilian creatures who have a heightened appreciation of aesthetics and warfare. They have developed advanced androids. These Terileptils have escaped from the Tinclavic mines on Raaga (see The Awakening), where they have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

Terileptils cannot last for long without breathing soliton gas: the substance is volatile when mixed with oxygen. The Terileptils' control bracelets are made of polygrite: the substance, and the power packs, are found in many parts of the Universe. Their usual form of lighting - vintaric crystals - is also common.

The Doctor's sonic screwdriver is destroyed. Thankfully, he finds a safety pin in his pocket.

who45

NQ. What is the Zero room?

grinner
05-12-2003, 07:46 PM
A. The Zero Room is a room that is in the TARDIS that has the wonderful ability to act as a giant deprevation tank. The Doctor used it to help recover from his eventful 4th regeneration... By refusing to regenerate for as long as he did... the Doctor damaged himself. This room was jetisoned by Tegan and Nyssa and became the Zero Cabinet. Which was destroyed in Castrovalva.

NQ is the same as the one above...

grinner

NQ. Why is it forbidden for TimeLords to meet themselves... and what effect does it have on the Doctor?

who45
05-15-2003, 08:08 PM
