Anyone interested in sending some Scaper Halloween lurve to some nice, deserving TV executives? Hmmmm?
Check out these sites and picture one (or more) of Ratscape's designs: http://www.masterpiecepumpkins.com/home.html http://www.pumpkinlady.com/custom.htm If we want to do this, we need to act quickly. I'm not sure it isn't already too late to get an order in for October 31, although we might be able to use one of the artificial ones and get it done early, before the rush. If people are interested, we need to decide: 1) Design(s) 2) Recipient(s) Anyone game?edited to add: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Boy, are you guys game or what?! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For those of you just joining us, we are going to be sharing some Scaper love with as many key people (Viacom, NBC, UPN, Showtime, Henson, Matt R.) as we can afford to by sending them artificial Halloween pumpkins on Monday, 10/27. Ah, but the kicker is that these will not be any ol' ordinary carved pumpkins! Oh, no!! In keeping with the high quality of Farscape, these babies will be professionally carved with one of Ratscape's wonderful designs! Designs currently being considered are: Pilot, D'Argo, Aeryn, Chiana, Scorpius, and Ratscape's modified Scorpy #3. A motion has also been made to include DVDs, candy, handwritten notes from Scapers, etc. with the D'Argo-lanterns Who knows what Scapers will come up with before we're through!!! These pumpkins will be shipped directly from the carver (Gene @ www.masterpiecepumpkins.com) to the lucky beneficiaries and will come ready-equipped with a light source, so they'll be all set to go! Unfortunately, the cost of the pumpkin, light, shipping/handling, and labor is not inconsiderable -- depending on the final design chosen, we're looking at anywhere from $100-200 per pumpkin, and we've only got until mid-September to do this thing! So, the only limit will be the amount collected!!! So, if you have any other questions, please browse through this thread or feel free to PM me. If you'd like to participate in the Pumpkin Project 2003 (aka Operation Boo! ![]() ), click here!!!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As of 9/7/03, the total collected (less Paypal fees) is $619.29!!! But still a long way to go and only a few days to get there, if we want to send these to more than 3 people!

I was thinking that too, trubador --
--I think a Pilot or Scorpy image from Ratscape would be a good substitute. Recipients...well...hmm. We have MGM, NBC, I think Viacom can still do something for us if the can envisage Farscape on Spike, UPN or Showtime...that's a starter list. Should we also send them Halloween treats? Kit Kat? Reeeeeses Pieeeeeeces? ![]() BTW...the second link is comping up with script errors; I'll try again later.

I'm in. Since its for Halloween, why not something more sinister (not that Scorpius isn't really a nice guy deep down inside), Scorpius would be great.
And why limit it to potential broadcasters? We should send at least one to the Hensons as a reminder that our scaper community is still intact. And how about sending one to our favorite TV Guide writer, Mr. Roush with an update on our campaign. Who knows, he may even put in another pro-Farscape plug. We should be sure to have lots of Halloween candy with the pumpkins as well.

Sounds like a good idea.
Still on my first cup of coffee so my thoughts are kind of scattered at the moment, but here's a few things:If we're sending these to network execs, then I would definitly send artificial ones (and maybe fill them with candy), not real ones. Real ones can get pretty messy real quick, would be more difficult to ship and might not even get accepted. Also, I would have the word 'FARSCAPE' carved into these pumpkins, using the Farscape font (if there's no copyright issue). Most execs are not going to recognize the characters. If we're sending to Henson and/or Matt or anyone else who is very familier with the show or us, then the characters would be fine. As far as who to send to, I'd say at least NBC (cos it looks like they're in the forefront of the Vivendi auction at the moment). BTW - I couldn't get the second link to work. I'll keep checking this thread. ![]()

I'm in. I really like the idea of the artificial ones filled with Rygel's favorite sugar fixes, too.

![]() To answer the first question -- yes, they do custom-design carving, and I agree that an artificial one is probably best. I also love the idea of using Scorpy a la Kansas, but I'll have to check with the people to see what works best. Does anyone have a screen cap handy of that pumpkin?
