A Multi User Dungeon? I thought those were all shut down by the Universities that used to run them.

Nopers...
They are more now than ever, with dsl and such being everywhere. Most just died off from lack of use, a few of the bigger ones including the one i played at hosted by Stanford are still alive and kicking... =D

Sounds interesting. What's involved? Are you thinking a Farscape themed on-line RPG type of environment? i've done a lot of computer gaming (RPG and strategy mainly, with a few space sims), but it has been all single player. My on-line experience has been chiefly web surfing and participation in on-line boards line FMD, so I am not too sure what is involved with a persistant multi-user dungeon other than in theory.

I wanna play too. I did some mudding back in the mid 90s, but it was pretty cumbersome back then, plus some of the players had little tolerance for "stupid newbies". I'll keep an eye on this thread.

probably not. It is text based role-playing games typically in the D&D genre, but there were quite a few Star Wars and Star Trek based games as well. It flowed just like a D&D module... you adventured thru the game.

Apart from Jeff's game, there's the Keepers of the Peace RPG as well. This one's running right now - I'm the main GM there, actually! This one's a first-person RPG - I think Jeff's is third-person.
I'm glad you've given a progress report on your game, Jeff - I've passed through the site a few times, but wasn't sure what was going on. I thought it hald folded a few times, since there wasn't a time-to-go notice of any kind.
