would you necessarily want that, though, with a remake? not that Kilmer wouldn't be an interesting actor choice all on its own, but would you want someone that looked like the first actor that played the role, on purpose i mean?

he's certainly got a great quirkiness and sense of the absurd. depending on how they crafted the character, that could be really interesting.

Hollywood Reporter has it that Zachary Quinto is going to be the new Spock:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...739497b0bcd75b I think he's the guy that got rammed thru with the katana sword in the season finale of "Heroes". |

According to William Shatner, Nimoy has a part in the movie. I suspect the movie will be told from his perspective.
(Shatner has not been approached to appear... )

I understand that the crew of TNG is getting too old for a new movie (BTW, the scenario of Nemesis was a disaster, it was sooooo boooooring that I almost dozed off after 15 minutes or so), but Matt Damon as captain Kirk? Pffffff.
I'm so fed up with the scenarists going back in the past, Star Wars I was a catastrophy, (at least, if you're not a little boy screaming and babbling during the whole movie like the one who was just in the front row and who I'd have spanked with pleasure), Enterprise was not so good either, why can't they just make a new departure in the Future, whole new crew, new aliens (and not those ridiculous Xindis!) and a captain that doesn't jump out of his pants each time he's sees something remotely female! PS: forgive my English, I'm French and haven't practised in quite a while.

Because shows like Farscape have risen the bar so high that Berman & Co. fall on their eemas trying to match it?

They oughta sit on their eemas for quite some time and watch Farscape from season 1 till the mini serie, and understand that an interesting sci-fi serie is more than lots of Humans, lots of humans-like for latex foreheads, the concept of "boldly go" and bloody explore should be re-explored itself.
I'm a Trekker, I'm a Scaper, and I must recognize that ST is way behind Farscape in terms of designing aliens and good new stories, and the next movie looks like they're raedy to bury the Enterprise so deep down that even the die hard fans won't try to make it live again. I certainly don't look forward to seeing it, esp with Matt Damon as Kirk. To hell with Kirk, give us some fresh blood.

I think hope just died...
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index...d=43113&type=0 I am so seriously not going to see this movie if that happens... In other news, they've cast Chekov. I thought they'd seen the original series? If this is a prequel, Chekov is one character that should not be in it.

1. I break my leg and have to renounce my trip to Dragon con.
2. They want to cast the dwarf to play captain Pike in the next ST movie? What have I done to Kalinn to have such a karma? ![]()

simple
Because Chekov was not in The Original Serie at the very beginning.
Have you seen him in Babylon 5 when he played that Psy cop? He was good. It's like they'd do a Farscape movie without Ben, Wayne, Claudia, David or Anthony, that sucks! I understand that Shatner is way too old to play Kirk now, but why not take people from the most recent series, at least, the fans wouldn't grumble too much, I don't give a frell about Tom Cruise or any other "bankable" actor, if I go see a movie about a serie that I love, I want to see the original actors or at least, another sequel in the same universe. I've recently bought myself "legend of the rangers", ok, they had G'Kar but he was so misused, it was like he wasn't part of it at all. And the scenario sucked. I hope that Babylon5 "the lost tales" will be a lot better!
