I agree with you and your post was right on. I would hope most of us here have the same feelings and I would assume that they do or I would question why are they even bothering if it doesnt matter that much. Thanks for the breath of fresh air and common sense.

Lets also not forget that, if what we read is true, Viacom is seriously thinking about purchasing Sciffy from Vivendi, and everything I've seen indicates that Vivendi is anxious to unload Sciffy. It could happen any day. UPN is owned by Viacom. It is in their best interests not to make public statements about the programming of a network they are thinking of buying. And it is in our best interests to keep up the pressure. It lets Viacom (UPN) know that if they do buy Sciffy they have a built-in fan base. And with Viacom's much deeper pockets the chances of Farscape getting renewed is much better. Everything we do that generates any kind of buzz in the industry or media attention is for the good. I certainly don't intend to give up now.

I guess I just disagree. I don't expect them to say anything. I think they make the assumption that we all can figure out things on our own--they respect our intelligence. You can't assume they know everything that's going on here. Just because they CAN visit this site, doesn't mean they do. These are high level executives with other work to do. Brian Henson is dealing with the sale of a company that produces many things. DK is developing another project. Such things can occupy much time. Isn't it true that when he was shown the ad in Burbank he didn't know anything about it? If others believe they feel a commitment to say anything they haven't already said about Farscape's chance, go ahead. I, for one, believe I have my own ability to analyze and interpret their actions or inactions on my own. |

We haven't asked DK to make any commitment. We were simply saying that if and when he says to stop, we will. He has informed us of things before and we have no reason to believe that he'd leave us hanging if there was no chance at all. That was all that small portion of the statement was intended to mean. If you read the entire statement, you would have also seen the line where we said that the choice to continue was up to each individual but that we were stating the savefarscape.com position on our commitment to the campaign. And you would have probably noticed the line about our reevaluating our position in the campaign after 422 - independent of DK.

You're welcome to make your own choices, MediaSavant. Nobody at SF.com has EVER questioned any individual's right to make up their own mind about what to do. And no, we don't expect DK to know all the ins and outs of the campaign -- half the people in the campaign don't know everything that's going on. Of course he's not sitting on his computer reading the boards. But they know the campaign exists, they know how much they rely on the fandom, and they certainly know how to get in touch with us. For myself, I don't expect us to hear anything from anyone at Henson for some time, unless it's good news. At any rate, feel free to do whatever you like, but please don't call us irresponsible for our decisions. We take our responsibility to the fandom very seriously.

My towel may be a bit soggy, but I'm not throwing it in. And it's only wet because I've been moved to tears by the efforts of every single one of you here.
Just look at what this group has done!! Farscape's name is out there and it's spreading like wildfire everyday. That's becuase of our voices not Sci-Fi's. Have we yet to fade quitely away into night? Nope, just look at the media coverage still coming 4 months after Black Friday. I admit, I too was rattled by the last ratings. As they say, you can lead a horse to water but that doesn't mean they'll drink. But, we still have time to tip the scales. Now, is not the time to lie down the sword. Why? Because we have eyes on us that extend beyond Sci-Fi. We have vocal power and we need to continue to rock the boat. I've always believed that in the end it will not be the ratings, but the weight of our movement that will move the mountain. So shake off the negativity and go gather more horses. ![]() |

For what it's worth; As a union worker with the recent experience of spending 2 long yrs. on a picket line campaigning for a just cause, I may have more perspective on this than some. I could tell a very long tale of woe and joy, but I won't. This is probably a short-term campaign. This is for something we enjoy very much that we don't want to lose. It makes you feel good to unite and fight for something you believe in. There will be peaks and valleys. When things appear bleakest is usually when a breakthru happens as long as you don't give up. Hope and tenacity. Enjoy the comradery. Enjoy the remaining shows, however many there are. NEVER GIVE UP HOPE! P.S. The union campaign, we won. The largest back-pay settlement in N.L.R.B. history. ![]()

I guess I'll join the chorus too, letting you know that ***I'M*** not going anywhere. And I'm too a Capricorn, we're stubborn, loyal, tenacious little buggers

O.k, my turn!! I'm a Sagittarius (with a scorpio cusp) and I was born in the year of the tiger. I'm fiercely loyal and quite optimistic. <Rhonda always has a glimmer of hope when she reads "Look inside! You may be a grandprize winner!"> When I joined in this campaign not once did anyone say it would be easy or quick. I'm in it for the long haul. DK, Ben Browder and others are aware of what we're doing. If the last glint of hope is ever gone I don't see them being the type to just turn their backs and walk away without a word. I've never met anyone from the show personally but that's what I pick up from my own perspective. They could've walked away in the beginning without a word, but they didn't. They may not be involved in every little last thing we're doing, but they're aware of it. Silently cheering us on I'm sure.

I'm afraid that you'll have to drop several more houses on my head before I'm willing to call it a day. I'm slow that way.
And I just wanted to take a moment to thank MediaSavant for being so continuously supportive of the campaign and all of its efforts, for her obvious faith in the staff at savefarscape.com, and her belief in the committment, integrity and intelligence of the creative staff behind Farscape. She does us all proud. No. Really. |

Well, I personally think the time to go from a short term to a long term (years) campaign IS when DK tells us that it's time. He's the guy with the hope- he's the one that everyone says is a pitbull when it comes to Farscape-he's the one with season five in his head.
If he says there will be no Farscape in the foreseeable future, then we make plans to keep it alive in our hearts with fanfiction, etc. He won't forget us. He has to know that a lot of people feel the way I do and won't quit without him letting us know either (or dropping houses on some heads) . But that day is not going to happen, because we are going to get our show back. (oh, and I'm a sagittarian tiger myself) |
