It's with much sadness that I share the news of the passing of Emily
Salzfass aka Makiko/Sabine. Emily was a member of the
SaveFarscape/WatchFarscape family from the very beginning, working both
in front and behind the scenes to help bring back the show that we all
loved.
Let me share with you the words of her sister, Lizzie:
"Emily Sara Salzfass was born in New York City on February 1, 1976, and
passed away in her sleep in Oakland, CA on January 21, 2013 after a
courageous lifelong struggle with Bipolar Disorder. Emily grew up in
Chappaqua, NY, attended The Cambridge School of Weston, spent some of
her best summers at Bucks Rock Camp, and went on to study at Swarthmore
College. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her
sharp wit, great sense of humor, charm, imagination, creativity,
outstanding writing talent, loving nature, and generosity of spirit. She
never hesitated to help others, even when struggling herself. Emily
loved her family, her friends, television, her dog Zeus, creative
writing and science fiction, and she was loved fiercely back. She is
survived by her parents, Jane and Arthur Salzfass, and her sister Lizzie
Salzfass."
